The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 434

Catherine shook her head. “No way, it’s too expensive. I’ve already found something that works for me.”

“Really?” Lorinda’s eyes sparkled with curiosity. “So, what’s the price tag?”

“I found one online for thirty thousand,” Catherine replied. Lately, all her attention had been on the baby. She’d barely left the house, but somehow managed to sort out nearly everything for the birth. Whatever she couldn’t arrange herself, she’d researched until she understood it inside out. After comparing a bunch of options, this postnatal care center just seemed like the best fit.

Lorinda sniffed. “Well, let’s go check it out sometime soon. And while we’re at it, I’ll show you the big surprise I got for you.”

“A surprise?” Catherine paused mid-bite, the pineapple in her mouth suddenly forgotten. She chewed quickly and swallowed. “What kind of surprise?”

“You’ll see soon enough.” Lorinda winked. “Just promise me you won’t get too emotional. I don’t want to end up crying.”

Catherine couldn’t help but laugh.

With her mind full of baby prep, she quickly forgot all about Belinda’s call.

The next day, Catherine and Lorinda set out to visit the postnatal care center. Thirty thousand wasn’t anything special for Eldervale. Still, this place’s environment and service were on par with the fancy Serene Beginnings Postnatal Care. The only catch was the location. It was out in the suburbs, nowhere near downtown. It took nearly two hours for them to get there by car.

Lorinda grumbled more than once during the drive. “If I’d known it was this far, I would’ve said no right away.”

“It’s fine if it’s far,” Catherine said. “I’ll be living there the whole month. It’s not like I’ll be commuting back and forth.”

She already knew about the distance. All the online reviews raved about the place, except for how far it was from the city.

“But how am I supposed to visit you?” Lorinda rolled her eyes. “I don’t like the idea of leaving you all alone in some postnatal care place.”

Catherine thought for a moment. “You could just tough it out for a month. Once I’m done with recovery and move back home, you’ll be busy enough. Enjoy your peace while you can.”

She was planning to hire a nanny, but with a newborn, she’d be tied up and would probably need Lorinda’s help a lot. Lorinda already had Jasper and her job to handle. She was going to be swamped.
