The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 376

Lance stared straight ahead, not giving her so much as a glance. He made a low sound in his throat, barely acknowledging her.

Catherine looked away, and just like that, the connection between them disappeared.

Ivan and the others stayed silent, but their eyes told a different story, flickering with mockery as they sized up Catherine.

The elevator doors slid open. Ivan flashed a flattering smile. “Lance, after you.”

Lance walked in, confident and unbothered.

Everyone else hurried to follow, and the doors closed behind them as the elevator started to rise.

A moment later, the elevator in front of Catherine arrived. She and Letty stepped inside together.

A few other employees nearby pretended not to notice them, quietly waiting for another elevator instead. No one wanted to get dragged into Catherine’s mess.

It only took a few seconds for Letty to figure out what was going on.

“So, what did you do to piss off Lance?”

Catherine glanced at her. “Why are you so sure it was me who upset him?”

Couldn’t it be Lance’s fault for once?

Letty raised her eyebrows. “Come on, it’s Lance. If he’s right, he’s right. If he’s wrong, he’s still right. You’re the one who taught me that, remember?”

When Letty first joined the company, she was too blunt about right and wrong and ended up making a lot of enemies. Catherine had been the one to teach her that sometimes, with bosses and powerful colleagues, you just had to let things slide.

Now, Letty was throwing that lesson right back at her.

“Yeah, I guess it’s my fault,” Catherine admitted.

“Then just go apologize to him.”

Letty sniffed, her voice a little shaky. “I came all this way to work with you. If you get fired, I’ll be stuck here alone. I’ll have to go crawling back to Cabinda, and everyone will laugh at me.”

Catherine glanced at her. “And what makes you think Lance will even accept my apology?”

“Try being honest. Admit what you did wrong.”

Letty paused, then grinned. “If being honest doesn’t work, just get on your knees and beg. I’ll do it with you. He can’t stay mad if we both do it, right?”

Catherine couldn’t help but laugh, picturing those memes where people bring their best friend along to beg an ex for forgiveness. Except now, it was her bringing a coworker to beg their boss not to get mad.
