The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 311

Catherine felt completely wiped out, like she'd just been hit by a bolt of lightning. The worst part was, she only had herself to blame.

“Did you already forget what I told you? Out of everyone in this company, you and I are tied together. If I go down, you go down with me.”

Letty's smile faded, and the spark in her eyes dulled. “Wait, is he actually one of the bad guys?”

Catherine just raised an eyebrow. That said it all.

Letty let out a sigh, her excitement vanishing in an instant. “That’s such a waste. He’s so good-looking. I even started thinking about what we’d name our kids.”

“If you let yourself get distracted by his looks and mess up my plans, you better start thinking about what you want written on your tombstone.”

Catherine tried to sound light, but her eyes were dead serious.

Letty shook her head so hard her ponytail swung, both hands clamped over her mouth as she mumbled, “No way, I swear I won’t fall for it!”

Catherine had picked Letty to transfer over for a reason. She was loyal and usually followed orders. But right now, Catherine was having second thoughts.

“Just remember what I said. Go find Neville and let him show you around.”

Letty held up three fingers like she was making a pledge. “Don’t worry, Catherine. I’m yours, through and through. Betraying you isn’t even on my radar!”

Catherine just waved her off. “Go.”

“You worked with Lance for years and never fell for him. I’ll learn from you!” Letty said. But as she walked away, she pinched her thigh hard, a silent reminder to herself.

“Be like Catherine. Be a boss,” she whispered, as if she was heading off to war. Then she disappeared around the corner.

Catherine felt a headache brewing. At least, after that first starstruck moment, Letty managed to keep it together around Neville.

...

“Lance, I’ve finished checking out those people Catherine sent over. They really are close with the Buck family. I already sent everything to Catherine’s email, and I forwarded it to you too…” Aaron was rattling off his report.

As soon as he mentioned Catherine’s email, a chill ran down his spine.
