The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 233

Aaron hung up a few seconds later, his face pale and tense. He turned slowly to Lance, clearly struggling with what to say.

“Just spit it out,” Lance said, his tone flat.

Aaron hesitated, then managed, “The media traced that anonymous email… The IP address leads back to the Green family.”

Lance’s brows drew together, confusion flickering in his eyes.

“But it could be a mistake. I’ll have my team check again.” Aaron was already dialing, scrambling to get to the bottom of it.

Twice more he followed up, but every clue pointed right back to the Green family.

“This has to be some kind of setup. Someone is trying to stir things up between SilverLeaf and Golden Horizon… and between you and the Greens.” Aaron just couldn’t believe the Green family would actually pull something like this.

Lance’s eyes darkened. The confusion on his face faded, leaving only a cold resolve. “Send everything we have to the Green family.”

Aaron nodded, resigned. “On it.”

He couldn’t wrap his head around any of it. Why would the Greens do this? After sending over the files, Aaron picked up his phone and called Catherine.

“Daniel’s not the type to fall for a trap,” Aaron told her, almost thinking out loud. “There must be something else going on here, something we don’t know.” He’d told Lance it was just a misunderstanding, but deep down, he trusted his team’s investigation. There was no way they were wrong.

“Lance could solve anything for him, if he just asked. Daniel’s no fool,” Catherine replied. She agreed with Aaron—the evidence might all point to the Green family, but something about it didn’t add up. Daniel wasn’t the only one in that family, after all.

“What do you think, Catherine?” Aaron asked. He’d always admired her intelligence. She saw things almost as sharply as Lance did.

Catherine was thoughtful. “Let’s wait for their response. The Green family will have to say something soon.” She never made claims without proof.

Aaron let out a long sigh.
