The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 315

At that realization, Genevieve’s nails dug so deeply into her palm that they broke the skin, drawing a trace of blood, but she felt nothing.

When she had her miscarriage, Elias hadn't even arranged a VIP room for her. Yet now, for Victoria’s sake, he had secretly moved Garnett into one.

The blatant disparity turned her gaze icy, and the flames of her jealousy grew wild.

Everything she had schemed and fought for, Victoria received without lifting a finger.

Why?

Victoria, why do you have to compete with me for everything?

As the thought crossed her mind, Genevieve's expression grew more sinister. She stared in the direction Garnett had gone, her eyes darkening.

Victoria, you’re the one who chose to fight me. Don’t blame me for what happens next…

In the garden.

A gust of wind blew by, and Garnett suddenly sneezed.

“Mr. Sanger, it’s colder when the snow is melting. How about I go up and get you another jacket?” Mr. Flint suggested.

Garnett glanced at the puddles left by the melted snow on the ground and nodded. “Alright, but please be quiet. Don't wake Victoria.”

Mr. Flint smiled. “Of course.”

With that, he turned and headed back toward the main building. Garnett found a gazebo bathed in sunlight and sat down to wait.

Perhaps because of the cold, there were very few people in the garden.

“Mr. Sanger.”

Garnett heard someone call his name and turned toward the sound. He was slightly surprised to see who it was.

“Hey, aren’t you the one from the elevator…” He trailed off, suddenly realizing how she had just addressed him. “You know me?”

Genevieve stepped into the gazebo. “I do.”

“Yes, Mr. Sanger! See? You do remember,” Genevieve said with a sweet smile.

Garnett waved his hand dismissively. “I’m old, my memory’s not what it used to be. If you hadn’t reminded me, I wouldn’t have recalled any of that.”

“I’ve heard bits and pieces about what’s happened to the Sanger family over the past couple of years,” Genevieve said with feigned concern. “Mr. Sanger, you’ve suffered a great deal.”

“It’s nothing to complain about. When you do something wrong, you have to accept the consequences,” Garnett said, not wanting to rehash the past. He casually steered the conversation away.

“You’re right, Mr. Sanger.”

Genevieve lowered her lashes, looking as if she had been deeply enlightened, all while hiding the malice in her eyes. When she looked up again, she said, as if it were an afterthought:

“I was worried that your spirits would be affected by Grady’s death, but seeing you now, looking so well, I feel relieved.”

Grady’s death…

The words hit Garnett like a physical blow. The color drained from his face as he asked urgently, “What did you say?”
