The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 287

Genevieve’s expression froze.

“Elias, I didn’t… Victoria deliberately led me on to say those things. I didn’t mean any of it…”

Her excuses sounded feeble.

However, Elias never once looked at her. His gaze was fixed on the woman on stage.

She wore a pale blue gown, her long hair draped over her shoulders. Because she had just stood up from a crouch, a few strands had fallen forward, perfectly concealing the bite marks and bruises on her delicate neck.

Elias’s eyes darkened. After slamming the door and leaving the day before, his mind had been consumed all night by the image of Victoria beneath him, her eyes filled with tears.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he had forced himself on her.

There had been no passion, only a ferocious venting of his anger. He had wanted to hurt her, to make her regret it.

Sensing Elias’s gaze, Genevieve’s face paled. She knew exactly what that look meant.

No, this couldn’t be happening…

Elias was hers. He couldn’t fall in love with another woman!

Already on the verge of a breakdown, Genevieve had lost all reason. “Elias, Elias, look at me. Listen to me…”

Just then, several police officers walked in. “Genevieve Vale, we received a report regarding accidents of varying degrees at several projects you took on two months ago. You are now a suspect in a case involving collusion with the construction company to alter design plans and cut corners. Please come with us.”

Genevieve’s pupils constricted, and she began to struggle. “I didn’t do it! It wasn’t me! You’re framing me! This is a setup!”

“We’ll find out whether it was you or not once you come with us for questioning.” An officer stepped forward with a blank expression and swiftly grabbed Genevieve’s flailing arm, twisting it behind her back.
