The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 281

“That’s right! Mr. Rhodes, Victoria Sanger is a plagiarist and a murderer!”

“Boycott Victoria!”

“Murderer! Bully!”

“…”

After hearing Genevieve Vale and the reporter's pointed questions, the crowd's emotions flared. Some of the more extreme attendees even started throwing their water bottles at the stage.

The event organizer's face paled as he saw the situation rapidly spiraling out of control.

Genevieve stood to the side, a satisfied smirk playing on her lips as she watched the chaos unfold.

This was exactly the effect she wanted. She wanted Victoria to be utterly abandoned and her reputation destroyed.

Grant Rhodes’s appearance had disrupted her plan, but… it didn't change the outcome. Rose was dead. Whether it was plagiarism or bullying, Victoria had no way to prove her innocence.

Thump!

Grant struck his cane hard against the floor. The sharp sound, amplified by the microphones, echoed through the massive hall.

The crowd’s shouting was startled into an abrupt silence.

Grant’s expression was grim, his sharp gaze sweeping across the entire room before finally landing on the reporter who had spoken earlier. “You’re right about one thing. I have promised the world that while anyone else can disregard plagiarism, my students will never be associated with those words.

“For an architect, originality is their lifeblood. To abandon originality and choose to plagiarize is to throw away your own life. And anyone who doesn’t cherish their own life is not worthy of being my student!”

The reporter’s eyes lit up. “So, Mr. Rhodes, are you saying you’re disowning Victoria as your student?”

Grant sneered, leaning on his cane and narrowing his eyes. “Who said I was disowning her?”

The reporter and everyone else in the room looked taken aback.

“Then you…”

“I said a plagiarist is not worthy of being my student!” he declared, his voice ringing with authority. “Since Victoria is my student, it is absolutely impossible for her to have plagiarized someone else’s work.”

“Isn’t that just turning a blind eye to protect her? You’re contradicting yourself! Mr. Rhodes, how can you face the people who respect you so much!” the reporter shouted, his voice full of self-righteous indignation.

“Are you incapable of understanding what I’m saying? I said, Victoria did not, and could not, have plagiarized!” Grant retorted. “I may be old, but my eyes aren't failing me yet. I can still see clearly what a person’s true design level is, whether they’ve plagiarized, or if they’re all flash and no substance!”
