Madeline and Lena felt extremely embarrassed but they had nowhere to hide.
All the other employees who were sitting next to them glared at the two women with disdain.
Sabrina, however, had a calm expression on her face.
Back at the office, she hadn't smelled Madeline's intensely strong perfume, which caught her by surprise now. Since her nose was easily irritable, she could not stand the scent of it at all.
"Mrs Ford, won’t you...just give us a chance to turn over a new leaf?" Madeline sounded aggrieved. "I know we have made mistakes in the past, but didn’t w e make up for them? I even brought you the Green Mountain coffee as a way to extend my apology, and yet you won't even bat an eye at us?"
The more Madeline got closer to Sabrina, the more she tried to move away.
When she saw this, Madeline started to look even more aggrieved. "Do you... Do you really hate me that much? You could even forgive Ruth, who once tried to hit you with the sole of her shoes. You're even friends with her now, so why can't you do the same for me? People often say that you shouldn't hit the person who has admitted their own mistakes..." "I'm sorry!" Sabrina interrupted, which made Madeline
stop talking for a moment.
Then, she got up and sat next to Ruth. This way, she would be able to avoid the pungent smell of perfume o n Madeline's body.
Meanwhile, this action of hers made Madeline start to tear up.
She felt extremely wronged, but did not dare to throw a tantrum at Sabrina. Right now, who would be foolish enough to do so?
Even a person of status like Selene chose to play the clown submissively and slapped her own face.
As such, Madeline could only admit defeat and try her best to please Sabrina.
Yet even when she saw Madeline with the tears in her eyes, Sabrina did not seem to show any remorse.
"Miss Graham, please don’t emotionally blackmail me, alright? Ruth wanted to slap my face with the shoes because she had no idea who I was. However, when she apologized and tried to protect me, those were also done without the knowledge that I was Sebastian's wife.
"You’re different.
"If I wasn't Sebastian's wife, would you serve me Green Mountain coffee to try and please me?"
Sabrina's calm sounding yet harsh scolding left both Madeline and Lena speechless.
Furthermore, she sounded neither humble nor overbearing.
She started to realise that Sabrina was a very friendly person to chat or eat with.
"Haha!" Sabrina laughed heartily in response.
After a while, she asked, "How is your relationship with your parents? Have they calmed down yet? Actually, I think I'm the reason that your parents are mad at you."
Ruth instantly looked down when Sabrina brought up the issue with her parents.
"No, I'm not planning to give in to them. I've done nothing wrong. Since they are still cross with me now, I'll just return home to pick a fight with them. I’ll wait until they cool down before showing my face again.
"It's fine, Sabrina. Yvonne let me stay at her place.
With a home and a job to do, I don’t think I can ask for anything else. They are my parents after all, so I can’t blame them.
"I'll just wait for them to clear their heads.
"Sabrina, you are my role model from now on."
