It was just like a relationship between an older and younger sister.
When Ruth had first joined the company back then, she was bewitched by her cousin, who made her believe that she was the lady of the company. In reality, however, he had just been flattering her. In any case, Ruth was just a stepping stone whom he could instantly dispose of after using.
Yet Ruth, not knowing the complexity of such matters, wasn’t aware of her own shameful behaviour. She had simply acted domineeringly at the firm all day long.
Because of that, she didn't have any real friends there, and all the other employers despised her.
This was unlike Yvonne, who had a pleasant attitude and easily established camaraderie with others.
Many people in the firm enjoyed talking to her, and even her superiors had a good impression of her. Therefore, once she saw the window of opportunity, Yvonne immediately held onto Marcus.
Perhaps she could also become a rich wife of high society like Sabrina one day.
The more she thought of that, the more Ruth felt inferior.
In just three weeks, the arrogant woman, who had
always acted shamefully and crossed boundaries, was humbled into knowing her own place.
All things considered, Ruth was actually a good person at heart.
Seeing how uneasy she looked, Sabrina quickly offered, "It's not a problem that Yvonne went on a date. Let's just go eat at the cafeteria together."
Ruth replied happily, "Mmm, alright, Mrs Ford."
"Call me Sabrina."
"Sabrina," repeated Ruth with a smile.
After spending time with her, Sabrina had begun to realise that Ruth was pretty much the same as herself. She was also a person who would sparkle when shown the smallest act of kindness.
Madeline added, "This may be the social circle of wealthy people, but..."
"Hey! We really do have a chance. Madeline, when you weren't here just now, Master Ryan suddenly grabbed onto Ruth's hand and dragged her out of the building. Surely you know how disgusted Master Ryan had felt about Ruth before this," Lena said enthusiastically.
"Really? Then in the future, we..."
The two women walked out of the elevator and into the cafeteria while immersed in their daydream all the way. After looking around, they spotted Sabrina and Ruth within a second, who had already picked up their food. The two ladies then immediately ran over happily towards them.
When Ruth saw Madeline and Lena approaching her, she suddenly felt so frightened that she stopped eating. After swallowing the food in her mouth, she turned to look at the two women nervously, "I...Am I sitting on your usual spot? If I am, I'll... I'll return the spot to you."
Ignoring Ruth, the two of them looked towards Sabrina, and said courteously in unison, "Mrs Ford, we sincerely apologize to you. We hope that you can forgive us."
Right after they said that, the two of them bowed.
Instantly covering her mouth and nose, Sabrina exclaimed, "Stay away from me!"
