Sorry for Your Loss It's Me I'm the Loss novel Chapter 756

Yvonne listened, nodded hesitantly, and settled back under the covers.

Bennett rose from the bedside, went into the bathroom to quickly freshen up, and changed his clothes before leaving the bedroom.

In the living room, Emma was sitting impatiently, nearly finished with her tea, when she finally saw Bennett emerge from the bedroom.

"In a good mood this morning?" Emma shot him an irritated glance, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

Bennett walked over, sat down across from her, and said half-jokingly, "I was, until you showed up and interrupted. Maybe you should stick to afternoon visits. All these surprise inspections are starting to affect my health..."

Before he could finish, Emma grabbed a throw pillow from the sofa and tossed it at him. "What nonsense are you talking about?"

Bennett caught it easily and set it aside.

"Go make my son a cup of tea to cool him off," Emma ordered Helen, her face stern.

Helen went into the kitchen and returned with a cup of warm green tea for Bennett.

"Thank you, Helen," Bennett said, taking the cup. He then added, "Is breakfast ready? Yvonne is going to sleep a little longer, so please keep her food warm."

"Of course. Breakfast is being kept warm in the pot, and I've also prepared a special nourishing soup for her," Helen replied with a smile before leaving.

"You certainly seem concerned about her," Emma remarked, her voice flat.

Bennett replied, "I'll thank you on Yvonne's behalf. She's incredibly lucky to have a mother-in-law like you."

"Enough with the flattery," Emma said, still displeased. "I've been here for a while now, and she hasn't even bothered to show her face. What kind of manners are those?"

"She's just tired out from this morning. It's my fault," Bennett said, his tone a mix of humor and sincerity as he took all the blame.

Emma couldn't stay truly angry with her son, so she continued in a milder tone, "Since you're living together, are you using birth control? Now that you're getting married, you should have a child as soon as possible. Your grandfather is getting on in years and keeps nagging about wanting to hold a great-grandchild. It would be a problem if Eden and Yolanda's child were to win his favor."

Mr. Thompson Sr. was getting older, and with age came a growing obsession with certain matters.

While the men of the Thompson family had shown little reaction to Yolanda's pregnancy, seemingly unconcerned, the women knew better than to be complacent.
