She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 8

Loyce snapped, “If we don’t leave now, your admiral is going to die. Are you prepared to answer for that?”

Still suspicious, the two officers escorted her into the car and took her to the Shapiro estate.

It was imposing—towering Roman columns holding up a broad portico, ornate carvings gleaming in the sun.

Loyce crossed the corridor and followed the officers into an elevator in the main hall, heading down to the underground level.

When the doors opened, bright crystal lighting spilled out. A crowd of world-class doctors had already gathered outside Lucian’s room. No one had a solution. They were all waiting on the medication.

The Shapiro patriarch saw his men return and demanded, “Did you bring the medication back?”

The officers stepped aside, revealing Loyce behind them.

One answered hesitantly, “We did… but it’s with this young lady.”

Purity Walsh, head of the Walsh medical dynasty, immediately stepped forward and reached for the vial in Loyce’s hand. “Give it to me.”

Loyce avoided her hand and took two steps back, voice calm. “High-purity Nexo-7 is highly toxic until it’s processed. It wasn’t treated in time. I’m the only one who can use it safely.”

A wave of disbelief ran through the room.

Purity let out a cold laugh. “You’re a delivery girl and you think you understand this medication better than I do? In front of Metropia’s top physician, you still dare to talk big. Hand it over.”
