She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 67

Less than five minutes later, the manager came rushing out with the associate in tow.

Adele watched them barrel forward and sneered. “Took you long enough. Are you selling me that bag or not?”

The manager didn’t even glance at her. He went straight to Loyce, bowed deeply, and spoke with careful respect. “My sincerest apologies, Ms. Lonsdale. We didn’t realize you were here. Our welcome was shamefully inadequate. Which bag caught your eye? I can have everything you like packaged and delivered to your residence. What happened just now was an employee’s failure. Please don’t take it to heart.”

The associate bowed too, trembling so badly her shoulders shook. “I’m so sorry.”

Adele’s brows knitted in fury. “You’re apologizing to her? Who are you calling ‘Ms. Lonsdale’? What kind of nonsense is this?”

Only then did the manager turn to her, expression controlled but cold. “Mrs. Sampson, we have no right to remove any customer. Please don’t force us into an impossible situation.”

Adele’s chin lifted, voice sharp with threat. “Our Sampson Group is about to partner with the Lonsdale Group. Forrest Lonsdale personally delivered the contract. And didn’t the Lonsdales just acquire this mall? If I want the place cleared so I can shop in peace, do I need to spell it out any more clearly?”

The manager’s patience thinned. The Sampsons truly had to be out of their minds. Did she even understand who she was posturing at?

He looked back at Loyce, deferential again. “Ms. Lonsdale, your instructions?”

Loyce’s face didn’t change. “Ask them to leave. And from now on, Mrs. Sampson and her lovely daughter are not to enter Allview Plaza again.”

Adele laughed in disbelief, eyes dripping contempt. “You want me to leave? Who do you think you are?”
