She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 248

Hearing the door open, Sapphire slowly looked up, her voice hoarse from crying. “Will you really help me?”

Loyce walked over and stood before her, her stunning features twisted into a cryptic expression as she loomed over her. “Let’s just say we’re making a deal.”

A sudden chill ran down Sapphire’s spine. She felt an immense pressure emanating from the young woman before her.

“What do you want me to do?”

“Gavin has been working with the Walsh family for years. I want you to get me proof that he was involved in organ trafficking,” Loyce said, her voice low and haunting. “And if you happen to find any other useful information, I’d be more than happy to take it off your hands.”

Sapphire tilted her head back. “And what about you? What can you give me?”

Loyce bent down, resting her hands on her knees to meet Sapphire’s gaze. “You want the director position, don’t you? I can give it to you.”

Sapphire’s eyes widened. “When?”

“As soon as you get me what I want.” A faint smile played on Loyce’s lips. “You can continue living your glamorous life, untainted by the Walsh family’s scandal, and what happened today will remain our secret.”

Sapphire was skeptical. “How do I know you won’t just betray me?”

Loyce placed her business card on Sapphire’s lap and strolled leisurely toward the elevator. “Do you have any other options? Who else can you trust to help you now?”

Her words echoed in the empty hospital corridor, leaving Sapphire lost in thought. The entire network she had painstakingly rebuilt was propped up by the promise that she would become the hospital’s director. If those socialites discovered she was lying, they wouldn't just mock her; they'd cast her out of their circle completely.
