She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 233

The two girls standing with Cyrilla saw their chance and started to move around to the other side of the car, intending to drag Giselle out. But just then, the driver locked her door, turned around, and spoke up. “Giselle is going to the Shapiro family for tutoring. It was Mr. Shapiro’s idea.”

The arrogant smirk on Cyrilla’s face vanished, replaced by a flash of panic. She instantly realized her driver reported directly to Lucian, and if he found out she’d been bullying Giselle again, she’d be in serious trouble.

Instantly, Cyrilla shot Giselle a venomous glare before ducking into the car, her smile twisting unnaturally. “Oh, so that’s what this is about. What a misunderstanding! If it’s what Lucian wants, then of course I have no objections. Come on, Giselle, let’s go to our tutoring session together.”

Unsettled by Cyrilla’s lightning-fast change in demeanor, Giselle shifted away from her and turned to look out the window.

Cyrilla leaned in close, her voice a hostile whisper in Giselle’s ear. “I don’t know what you said to Lucian, but if you dare try to steal my fiancé, I swear I’ll make you regret it.”

Giselle simply ignored her.

...

When they arrived back at the Shapiro estate, Hallie was already in Cyrilla’s bedroom, ready to start the tutoring session.

But instead of entering, Giselle turned and walked in the opposite direction.

Cyrilla quickly grabbed her arm. “Where are you going? The session is in my room.”

Giselle frowned, her patience finally snapping. “For the sake of our past friendship, please, relax. I have no interest in Mr. Shapiro. He’s handsome and brilliant, but he’s not in the same league as ordinary people like us. Besides, you’re still in high school, and he’s over thirty. Your crush on him is just… inappropriate.”

Cyrilla scoffed. “You’re just saying that to make me give up so you can swoop in and take him for yourself, aren’t you?”
