Leanna pulled Quiana forward and introduced her with obvious pride. “This is another genius who helped develop Nexo-7. My student, Quiana. The compound Loyce produced before also had Quiana’s help. And this time, the formulation is even more perfect than before. It’s completely safe for Lucian to use. The results will be even better.”
Loyce lifted an eyebrow, dragging out the words. “Oh yeah? Then I really should take a good look at just how ‘perfect’ Quiana’s compound is.”
Lucian wasn’t there at the moment. He’d gone to the VIP ward to visit an old friend, leaving everything here under Leanna’s control.
Quiana clenched her fists, nails digging into her palm, and forced a smile. “Sure. And we grew up in the same house, so it makes sense our work might look similar.”
Byron, who’d come along, let out a cold snort. “Quiana, you don’t have to sugarcoat Loyce stealing your work.”
Loyce honestly thought Byron had something wrong with him. She could ace the hardest medical exams and he still insisted anything she did had to be copied from Quiana.
She didn’t bother arguing. “Hand it over. I want to see it.”
Quiana’s nerves spiked, but with everyone here except Loyce clueless about high-purity compounds, she still had the nerve to push back. “Loyce, this is for a patient. There’s no need for you to inspect it. What matters is getting it administered.”
Loyce laughed. “Fine. No need to inspect it. The vial in Quiana’s hand is fake.”
Everyone’s expression changed.
Leanna’s face hardened. “Loyce, every one of your so-called research results came from my student. What makes you qualified to say it’s fake?”
