She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 206

Loyce acknowledged, glancing at the clock. It was about time to get up and head to the military base with Lucian anyway.

The sun was blazing outside. She quickly washed up and applied some sunscreen. Turning to the pile of new clothes, she picked out a pair of denim shorts and a white knit tank top. From the matching accessories, she found a pair of sunglasses and hooked them onto the collar of her top.

Just as she finished getting ready, she remembered the car keys on the nightstand. When she went to look, she found a decorative ceramic bowl holding five sets of car keys. The unique designs alone told Loyce they belonged to a fleet of luxury cars.

But she had no time to admire Forrest's gifts. Lucian’s car had arrived downstairs. Grabbing her bag, she turned and headed out.

Today, Lucian was driving an official military vehicle with a special license plate.

...

It was the same car Cyrilla had seen Robert drive back late last night. In recent days, Cyrilla had been well taken care of by the Shapiro family. The butler had arranged a private car to take her to and from school and provided her with brand new, expensive designer uniforms and school supplies. This transformed her from the isolated “country bumpkin” on the first day of school into an object of envy for everyone.

Pretending she couldn't sleep, Cyrilla left her bedroom and “accidentally” ran into Robert. “Robert, you’re back so late,” she said casually. “Where’s Lucian? He hasn’t been back for days.”

“He will be staying here tonight,” Robert replied. Seeing the girl’s pitiful background, he softened his tone. “Why are you still awake?”

“I can’t sleep. I guess I’m still not used to the new school,” Cyrilla said, her eyes curiously fixed on the car. “I’ve never seen a car like this. Even the license plate is different.”

“This is the Admiral’s dedicated vehicle for his trip to the base tomorrow,” Robert explained.
