She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 204

Seeing his friend so worked up, Gordon felt a surge of pride and lifted his chin. The Lonsdale bloodline was truly exceptional; every one of them was destined for greatness, capable of emerging untarnished even from the mud.

Gordon gently pulled Dennis back. “Alright, alright. My precious granddaughter’s main focus is medicine. She really hasn’t studied painting seriously.”

Loyce smiled. “I actually brewed a pot of cooling wellness coffee in the lounge today. Would you like to join me for a cup in the shade outside? I’ll go get it.”

Dennis’s face lit up. “Of course, that sounds wonderful.”

Loyce brought the herbal blend she had been simmering all morning out to the garden and poured a cup for each of the old men. Dennis, weary from his travels and the heat, took a few sips. At first, he didn’t think much of it, happily chatting with Loyce about art. It wasn't until the sun began to set that he stood up, reluctant to leave.

“I don’t know what it is,” he said, “but normally a half-day out would leave me exhausted. I’ve been out all day today, and I still feel completely refreshed.”

It wasn't just Dennis. Gordon felt it too. The oppressive afternoon heat and fatigue were gone, and he felt remarkably alert.

Dennis took another sip of the coffee. “What is this wellness blend made of? I’ve tried many expensive herbal drinks for my health, but I’ve never tasted anything like this. It’s sweet on the tongue, cool in the throat, and then leaves a warm, comforting feeling throughout my body.”

“It’s a special blend I created,” Loyce said with a smile. “You can’t buy it in stores. It’s especially beneficial for people like you, who often stay up late painting and suffer from tendonitis.”

Dennis was stunned. “How did you know I have trouble with my hands, my dear?”

“I guessed from the way you hold your cup,” Loyce explained. “It doesn’t seem too severe. I have some extra coffee packs I can give you to take home. Continue with your usual treatments, and drinking this should help alleviate the symptoms.”

At that moment, Dennis was consumed with jealousy for his friend. He handed Loyce his business card and said, “I’ll be in Metropia for a few more days. You must come to my studio so we can paint together.”

Loyce smiled and agreed. “Of course.”

...

Meanwhile, Sapphire was anxiously waiting at Gavin’s house when she received a text with an attached acquisition notice for Walsh Hospital. She was ecstatic and immediately called him. “You really bought it?”

Gavin, high as a kite on marijuana, answered in a dreamy voice. “Of course. I spent a fortune to get you that hospital, so now it’s time for you to deliver on your promise, isn’t it? It’s a waste to have an icy beauty like you at home and not touch her.”
