Beneath the glittering crystal chandeliers of the casino, Loyce’s red dress was a blaze of fire, instantly capturing the attention of everyone in the room.
She gracefully accepted a glass of champagne from a passing waiter, her eyes scanning the casino floor. Finding Onyx Tiger directly would be difficult; she needed a way to lure him out.
Loyce moved between the gambling tables before approaching a staff member. “Do you have a high-stakes area?”
The attendant smiled politely. “We do, miss. However, for the high-roller lounge, the minimum bet is ten million per hand. We’ll need to verify your funds before you can enter.”
Loyce handed him her bank card. “Go ahead.”
After seeing her account held a balance of one hundred million, the attendant’s smile widened as he gestured her inside. “Right this way, please.”
The high-roller lounge was a world apart from the main floor. The dealers were stunning, some were even celebrities, each one exuding a sultry charm.
Champagne flute in hand, Loyce took a slow walk around the room, searching for the largest, most active table. She finally stopped at a table surrounded by a thick crowd of onlookers.
As it happened, she recognized one of the men playing. Lester Sampson, the third son of the Sampson family, her former adoptive brother.
Lester’s eyes were glued to the cards in his hand, his face slick with sweat. Across from him sat a man with a deceptively gentle appearance, wearing a pair of wire-rimmed glasses.
“Mr. Sampson, have you decided whether you’re going to call?” the man asked in a soft, cultured voice. “It’s fine if you don’t. We can stop here. We wouldn’t want our dear Lester to go home with nothing but his shorts, now would we?”
Lester had been at the casino for hours, and his chip stack had dwindled to almost nothing. His gaze darted between his remaining chips and the table.
