She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 114

He had seen something so shocking that the microphone nearly slipped from his hand. After the shriek of feedback faded, the audience saw the gentle piano prince’s expression darken instantly.

“Who told you to sit next to that man?”

Suddenly the center of attention, Loyce blinked innocently. “Sybil said that one was your special guest’s seat and that I couldn’t sit there.”

Her voice was soft, but Morris, with his exceptionally sharp hearing, caught every word. He spoke directly into the microphone. “That seat is for you. You are the special guest. There’s a box of treats I got for you right next to the chair. Now go sit back there and stop squeezing in with some man.”

It was obvious to everyone that Morris was jealous, but not in a romantic way. It was more like an overprotective older brother doting on and scolding his younger sister.

Loyce shrugged, stood up from beside Lucian, and walked over to the empty armchair. She leaned down, opened the small box, and found several kinds of juice and a few small cakes inside.

Seeing that she had obediently returned to her seat, Morris’s expression softened. He offered a charming, self-deprecating smile to the audience. “My apologies. My sister can be a bit mischievous. Please excuse the interruption.”

He elegantly adjusted his bow tie and returned to the piano. “And now, let us begin.”

No matter how beautiful the music from the stage was, not a single note registered with the girls who had mocked Loyce. The “stolen seat” incident had been a public spectacle, and now it was clear that they were the ones who had ganged up to bully her.

“Wow, Sybil’s act almost had me convinced that Loyce really stole the seat. I was about to join in and yell at her, but it turns out the seat was hers all along.”

“Seriously, Sybil didn’t even know the facts before she and her little clique went after her like that…”

One girl, a die-hard Lucian fan, suddenly looked thrilled. “So that means the other seat was Lucian’s! He was just helping Loyce out of a tough spot. Oh my god, he’s such a gentleman.”

Sybil’s face went pale in the darkness. “It was all my fault,” she whispered. “Neither Loyce nor Morris told me who the guest was. I just misunderstood.”

Yuna immediately rushed to her defense. “How is that your fault? It’s Loyce’s for not speaking up clearly.”

“You girls are so used to being arrogant that you didn’t even give Ms. Lonsdale a chance to speak before you started making accusations. Pathetic,” another voice interjected.

It was Flavia Lattimore, who had been watching silently from her seat. She had stayed quiet because she hadn’t been sure of Loyce’s standing among the Lonsdale brothers, but now it was apparent they all doted on her.
