Even if Elena tagged along, people would just think she was a country bumpkin.
"Let's go!" Dylan held Elena's hand as they headed to the restaurant.
Isabella and Caleb followed; this was a joint dinner for both teams.
In the private dining room of the hotel, many people were already waiting.
Seeing Dylan and his group enter, everyone inside stood up to welcome them.
"Mr. Sinclair!"
"Mr. Sinclair!"
They greeted him enthusiastically.
One CEO approached with a glass of wine. "Mr. Sinclair, please, take a seat!"
Since Isabella was also standing near Dylan, they assumed Isabella and Dylan were the couple.
After all, their outfits complemented each other.
Elena, on the other hand, looked like she might just be a staff member.
"Come, Mr. Sinclair, let me propose a toast to you first. And this young lady—this must be Mr. Sinclair's girlfriend?" The man looked toward Dylan and Isabella.
Isabella beamed. Her exquisite makeup tonight hadn't gone to waste.
"Thank you, Mr. Chapman," Isabella said proactively.
But Dylan corrected him instantly. "This is my fiancée. Mr. Chapman, you've got the wrong person."
Dylan raised Elena's hand, which made Mr. Chapman quite embarrassed.
It was actually the one beside him!
"I apologize, Mr. Sinclair. My eyes are playing tricks on me. I'll drink three glasses as a penalty!" Mr. Chapman quickly downed three glasses of wine.
At the table, the conversation revolved around business matters, which Elena had no interest in.
She just ate her food, but unexpectedly, Mr. Chapman turned his attention to her.
"Miss Whelan, I heard from Miss Bennett that you're quite the drinker and Mr. Sinclair's most trusted confidante. Come, let me toast you!"
It turned out Isabella had been whispering to Mr. Chapman, prompting him to focus on Elena.
