Seeing him drink, Jonathan finally relaxed.
He truly regretted losing his composure earlier. He shouldn't have treated Bianca that way tonight.
He had really lost his mind.
"Mr. Fairchild, since you know about the relationship between Bianca and me, I hope Bianca won't be bullied in the future. Otherwise, don't blame me for being ruthless. If anyone dares to touch my person, I will make sure they pay the price," Sean warned coldly.
Jonathan felt a chill run down his spine. Sean was angry.
He could only smile and say, "Mr. Maddox, rest assured, it won't happen. That was an accident. Bianca is my own daughter; of course, I love her!"
After speaking, Jonathan looked at Gloria. "Gloria, hurry up and apologize to your sister. Look at how out of line you were earlier. You knew we had a guest tonight, yet you still caused a scene. Can't you yield to your sister a little?"
Kate also shot Gloria a look, signaling her to stand up and apologize.
Helpless, Gloria picked up her wine glass and turned to Bianca. "Bianca, I'm sorry. It was all my fault before. I shouldn't have fought with you. I won't do it again. I hope you don't mind."
Bianca curled her lips. "And what if I say I do mind?"
Gloria froze.
She was stunned.
Usually, in this situation, people would smooth things over, right?
She didn't expect Bianca to embarrass her like this.
Seeing her daughter in an awkward spot, Kate smiled and said, "Bianca, your sister is young and doesn't know better. As the older sister, you should be the bigger person and not hold it against her. I'll make sure to scold her properly later!"
"Kate, are you trying to guilt-trip me? If I don't forgive her today, then it's my fault? It's me, the older sister, who doesn't know better?" Bianca challenged.
Kate suppressed her anger and forced a smile. "No, that's not what I meant..."
"You... you dare..." Although Gloria only had one good hand, she wanted nothing more than to tear Bianca apart.
Kate quickly held her back. "Don't be impulsive, Gloria. Your sister is teaching you a lesson, as she should. An older sister is like a mother. You were in the wrong before, so just let your sister vent her anger!"
Jonathan felt helpless. Doing this in front of a guest was disgraceful.
But Sean didn't say anything, which proved he silently approved of Bianca's actions.
"Gloria, your mother is right. It's only right for your sister to discipline you. We've spoiled you too much, that's why you targeted her. Go upstairs and wash up immediately!" Jonathan said impatiently.
Gloria huffed coldly and stormed off in a rage.
"Um... Mr. Maddox, I apologize for the display. It's just petty grievances between girls," Jonathan laughed ingratiatingly.
"Mr. Fairchild, they are adults, not children. Between adults, petty grievances can turn into hatred. Bianca told me she hasn't been back in this house long, yet you treat her like this. Look, the corner of her mouth is still red and swollen."
