Elena grabbed a handful of the wedding dress.
*Rrrrrip!*With a violent tug, the gown was completely ruined.
"Help! Help me! Somebody help!" Cathy screamed at the top of her lungs.
Elena had shredded the dress into tatters. At a glance, Cathy looked like a lunatic, standing there in a rag of a dress with her hair messy and undone. She was the one who looked deranged, not Elena.
"Quick! Get security over here!" the old matriarch shouted.
A moment later, the hotel security guards rushed in.
"I say call the police! Call the cops! Lock this crazy woman up!" Maggie roared.
"Shut up! No police! If anyone dares to call the police, they will face the family's disciplinary measures!" Old Mrs. Whelan stopped them immediately.
If word of this got out, the Whelan family's reputation would be dragged through the mud.
"Crazy... she's crazy... she's lost her mind..." Cathy curled up in the corner, trembling with fear, with no one there to protect her.
Old Mrs. Whelan stepped forward personally, blocking Elena's path.
"Elena Whelan, that's enough. Are you planning to hit me too?" the old woman asked.
Elena stopped. After all, this was Daniel Whelan's mother; she shared a quarter of her blood.
"Since you've vented enough, get the hell out of here! Look at the mess you've caused!"
"Fine, I'm leaving. But before I go, I have one last thing to do."
Elena grabbed a bottle of champagne from the table and walked straight over to Cathy.
The mood in the room was grim.
Maggie, from the second branch of the family, was clinging to the old lady. "Mom, Elena went too far today. I'm telling you, Daniel and his wife must have put her up to this. Today was Cathy's wedding! How could she cause such a scene and even hit Cathy? It's despicable!"
"She's right, Mom. Our family lost so much face today, and it's all because of Elena. That girl relies on Dylan Sinclair's backing to act recklessly. She has absolutely no respect for you. If she's this brazen while you're still here, if we don't discipline her now, she'll be walking all over you soon enough!"
Old Mrs. Whelan's face was livid. She glared at the couple. "You two have the nerve to speak? Did you raise your daughter any better? Justin and Claire were fine together until Cathy had to step in and steal him. And then she caused that drama at the engagement party. This is just karma!"
Maggie was too scared to speak. She was terrified that if the old lady got unhappy, she would be the one facing the family discipline.
Jane, who had been watching the drama unfold, suddenly spoke up. "Grandma, Uncle Edward and Aunt Maggie might have their faults, but Elena was truly excessive today. She didn't consider the bigger picture at all. Even if there was a grudge, she should have waited until after the wedding."
The matriarch had always favored Jane, thinking her sensible and obedient. Her gaze softened when she looked at her.
"Jane is right. Elena needs to be taught a lesson. In the end, she wasn't raised in the main house. There was that mix-up at birth, and she grew up on the outside. I can't control her now. However, I can still lecture her parents. Someone call the eldest son. Tell the couple to get over here and see me!"
