'Sh*t!' Darryl cursed internally when he saw Odlin charging at him. Without hesitation, he summoned a ball of Heavenly Sparrow Spiritual Flame and flung it at Odlin. The surrounding temperature instantly rose when the Heavenly Sparrow Spiritual Flame appeared, and the air distorted.
Odlin frowned when he felt the scorching heat. He dared not meet it head-on and instinctively flew to the side. Darryl quickly took that opportunity to head deeper into the palace buildings.
Odlin scoffed and shouted, "Where do you think you're going?!" Then, he chased after him.
'Sh*t!' Darryl cursed again, beyond distressed. 'How can I rescue Master if I can't even shake him off!'
He was speechless because there were just too many palace buildings. The Nine Mainland's North Moana Royal City was massive, but that was many times bigger. It was not an overstatement to say that it was boundless.
After a few minutes, Darryl could feel Odlin closing in on him. Then, the worst thing happened—he had lost his bearings and did not know where he should go next as he was unfamiliar with the place.
Just when Darryl was panicking, he saw a palace building in front of him. It looked very peculiar. The other palace buildings were made of white jade, but that one was black.
When he arrived, he saw that the gate was engraved with a few words— Forbidden Area, Trespassers Will Be Punished. His heart lurched. He did not hesitate to rush in at all. He was experienced in that kind of thing; he had lost count of the number of times he had barged into forbidden areas ever since becoming a cultivator, so there was no cause for panic at all. He was glad to know that that building was forbidden because Odlin might not dare to enter. That meant he would be safe for the moment.
'What is that? A teleportation gateway?' Darryl thought when he finally snapped back to his senses. A horrible suction force burst out from the black vortex and enveloped him. All that happened suddenly, and he had no time to react. In the next second, he was swept into the black vortex.
"Serves you right!" Odlin muttered to himself. Then, he turned and left.
Darryl did not know what the black vortex was, but Odlin knew that the black vortex was connected to an independent spatial space where a terrifying existence was sealed. There was a nine out of ten chance that Darryl would be dead when the black vortex had devoured him.
