Yalena was surprised as well. "What's going on?"
Darryl took a deep breath and said, "The second half of the Holy Jade Scripture is amongst those gifts." Then, he quickly dug around for the Thousand Variations Box.
The others in the room were startled and became inexplicably excited when they found out the second half of the Holy Jade Scripture was in the box.
Darryl was overcome with joy when he finally found the box. He was even happier when he realized the Queen had already unlocked the box. He quickly opened the lid and immediately went into a shock that made his mind buzz with emptiness when he realized it was empty.
How could that have happened? The Queen told him that the second half of the Holy Jade Scripture was hidden inside that Thousand Variations Box. Could she have lied to him? No, the Queen would not lie about that, especially when gifting that box to the Goddess of Light.
Yalena, the Pegasus Paladin, and the others were shocked as well. The Lion Paladin was the first to recover from the shock. "How dare the Queen of Golden Lion Principality scam the Goddess of Light? She must not have gone far. I will go after her and bring her back now!" he shouted angrily. Then, he rushed out of the temple.
However, he had not even taken two steps before Darryl stopped him. "Don't act so hastily, Golden Lion. There must be an explanation for this." He believed the Queen would not do something like that.
"Yes, Golden Lion, do calm down," Yalena said. She did not know why the box was empty, but she had put her trust in Darryl.
Then Golden Lion scratched his head and stepped aside.
Darryl laughed coldly at that thought. 'Does Donnie really think he can become the Mayor of Pearl City?'
Then, he said, "You all go. I'll join the group later."
"Yes, Saint Lord!" the Pegasus Paladin, the Golden Lion Paladin, and the others chorused. Then, they left for the banquet.
Darryl went back to the temple and took off his disguise. He had decided to go back to the Damien family as Lolita's husband.
