‘What?’ Madeline trembled when she heard Darryl’s reply and was stunned.
After a few seconds, she asked in disbelief, “You...You can communicate with the dragon?”
For thousands of years, dragons were known to be the most powerful creatures in the world and humans could only look up to them. It was unbelievable that Darryl was able to speak to a dragon.
“Of course. How else am I able to stand on its head?” Darryl grinned.
He wanted to tell Madeline the truth, but for some reason, he could not help teasing her after he saw her curious gaze.
“Oi! Since you can speak to the dragon, take it somewhere far away. Don’t stay here,” Cullen shouted at Darryl, recovering from his shock.
It was better if Cullen remained silent. Darryl had become inexplicably angry after hearing him speak.
In order to save his own life, it was extremely despicable for Cullen to use the rocks to trap Darryl with the dragon.
"I brought it here purposely to look for food. How can I just leave him?" Darryl said to Cullen, shaking his head.
Cullen's heart skipped a beat and he was flustered. "You...What do you mean?"
Darryl shrugged nonchalantly. "It's simple. Among the two of you, one will be the dragon’s food. Miss Madeline and I are friends, so let’s forget about her. So, only you will become the dragon’s food."
‘What?’ Cullen’s mind was buzzing and he was dumbfounded.
“Didn’t you say you can communicate with the dragon? Help me plead for mercy!” he shouted, his voice trembling.
“Why would I do that?” Darryl smiled indifferently.
‘You trapped me with rocks and left me to distract the dragon so you could flee from danger. But now that you’re in danger, you’re asking me to help you? How can something like that be possible?’ Darryl thought with a big grin on his face.
"Aren't you a capable person? Try communicating with the dragon later. Then, maybe, the dragon won’t eat you!" he teased Cullen.
Cullen gulped and almost cried. ‘How will I be able to talk to the dragon?’
Cullen shuddered after he heard Madeline. He had a clearer look at the situation and panicked.
Madeline was right! His opponent was a menacing and huge dragon! How could he possibly communicate with the dragon?
Then again, how did Darryl do it?
Madeline was so anxious that she almost cried. "Darryl, please! Please, can you say something nice for my cousin? Don't let the dragon eat him up? P-please—"
Darryl could not bear turning down Madeline’s request and smiled faintly. "Alright. You have to be sincere if you are begging me for a favor, right? What do you have to offer?"
Even though Cullen had crossed a line, he never wanted him to die. Darryl was merely trying to teach Cullen a lesson.
“Why don’t you tell me what to do?” Madeline looked puzzled.
Darryl breathed a long sigh and said, "Let's do this. If you call me hubby, I'll help him talk to the dragon."
