Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 2642

She was amazed. Clarice stood up, and her body trembled. She could not use any energy at all.

The giant black python was too powerful; Clarice sustained injuries when its tail struck her.

When he saw that, Darryl said, "Don't worry, you are only injured due to the vibration. You will be fine after some rest."

As he spoke, Darryl remembered something and asked, "Oh, yes! What is this place? You and your brothers seemed to be familiar with this place."

That…

Clarice bit her lips as she hesitated. "That was a place that belonged to the Raksasa Tribe. This wasteland was a city built by the Raksasa Tribe a few thousand years ago. Later, due to some conflict with Emperor Xuan Yuan, he took this place, and the people from our tribe were banished to the Wild Deserted Secret Region."

Clarice looked conflicted when she said that. It was their secret, one that they were not supposed to share with any outsiders, especially ones from the Nine Mainland. However, Darryl had saved her life; it was not appropriate for her to hide it from her savior.

'I see…'

Darryl nodded after he heard that; he understood the situation. 'No wonder this place looked so ancient.'

Clarice continued to say, "When our ancestors were forced to leave, they left something here. We are here to look for it. However, the Green Cloud Sect found us two days ago. They thought that we are spies from the Raksasa Tribe and that we are here to harm them. So, they locked us up."

When she said the last sentence, Clarice smiled at Darryl. "This is a secret I share with my siblings. I am not supposed to tell anyone else. So, you must keep it to yourself, especially when you see my brothers. Please do not say a single word. Otherwise, they will scold me."

Her eyes shone with anticipation; she looked incredibly alluring and adorable.

A smile appeared on Darryl's face; he nodded his head and said, "Fine, I will not tell anyone."

'I have never imagined such a gentle woman in the Raksasa Tribe.'

Bang…

Suddenly, they heard a loud vibration nearby; it was obvious that one of the traps in the room had been activated.

Sh*t!

Darryl was stunned; he thought he had misheard her. He was also amazed at the same time. 'That Raksasa Tribe lady looked so attractive when she's shy.'

As he mumbled in his heart, Darryl walked forward and carried Clarice. Then, he rushed toward the direction of the vibration.

A few minutes later, Darryl and Clarice found the garden where the vibration was from. Half of the garden had collapsed; the dust had dispersed, and there was no one there.

'What are those three siblings looking for?'

Darryl stood there as he carried Clarice in his arms. He looked around and furrowed his brows discreetly.

'Where are her two brothers? How careless! They are separated from their sister but still did not come looking for her?'

Clarice's body was stiff as Darryl carried her; she did not move a single muscle.
