No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 758

Just as York was about to reply to Claudia, a call came in from Ann.

He hesitated for a moment before declining it.

Immediately after, a message from Ann appeared on his screen. York glanced at the content before turning off his phone.

The next morning, outside the entrance to Capital University.

York rolled down his car window and looked at Ann standing outside. “Have you thought things through?”

In just one day, Ann looked haggard and worn.

Seeing that York didn't even bother to get out of the car, she stood outside, feeling wronged.

“York,” she said, “I don’t understand. We had an agreement. Why did you suddenly go back on your word?”

York’s expression was cold as he corrected her. “Ann, you and I no longer have any relationship. Please call me Mr. Ferguson.”

Ann’s face fell. Her hands, hanging by her sides, clenched into tight fists, nails digging deep into her palms.

York was the most difficult wealthy heir she had ever encountered.

His coldness seemed etched into his very bones, warning others to keep their distance.

She had orchestrated becoming his savior, then painstakingly pursued him for a full year.

Though he was polite to her out of gratitude for saving him, he had refused to start a relationship.

Then one day, she secretly followed York to a private club.

Overhearing a conversation with his friend, she discovered his family life was a mess. His father had an affair and an illegitimate son, his parents fought constantly, and his grandfather was a tyrant.

He hated his family's atmosphere but felt powerless to change it.

She also heard that he had just argued with his father and had been punished, whipped several times.

That very night, she went home and had her mother and brother beat her savagely.

They beat her until her lip was bleeding and her body was covered in welts.

Then, she called York for help.

To this day, she could still remember the shocked look in his eyes when he saw her.

York took her to the hospital.

Sobbing, she told the doctor how her mother favored her brother, how suffocating her home life was, how much the lashings on her back hurt, and how her parents were so despotic they never considered her feelings.

After leaving the hospital, York drove her home.

She deliberately fled in a panic.
