My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 310

Riyana hadn’t even realized how much time had passed. The sky outside the tall glass windows had turned dark, the city lights glowing softly below. This was supposed to be just the first day, an introduction, but she had stayed longer than planned.

Partly because Lennox was learning faster than she expected, and partly because she could see how much effort it took for him to even hold the brush. Leaving early felt unfair.

While they were cleaning the brushes and covering the paints, Riyana’s phone kept vibrating inside her bag.

Again.

And again.

She didn’t need to check the screen to know who it was.

She sighed quietly.

If she answered now, it would turn into an argument over the phone. Jabco would question her, interrogate her, demand explanations. She didn’t have the energy for that. If he wanted to scold her, better do it face to face. At least then she could look him in the eye.

So she ignored it.

When she was finally ready to leave, Lennox glanced at the time on his phone and frowned slightly.

“It’s late,” he said. “If you don’t mind, I can drop you at your place.”

Riyana shook her head immediately. “It’s okay. Thank you, but I’ll take a taxi.”

She didn’t want unnecessary trouble.

Lennox stopped walking and looked at her, really looked at her.

“If you’re worried about being seen,” he said calmly, “you don’t have to be.”

Riyana raised her brows slightly.

“First,” he continued, “I don’t care if anyone sees us. And second, I won’t let anyone harm you because of me.”

There was no pride in his voice. No showing off. Just quiet confidence.

Riyana let out a small chuckle.

“You’re very confident,” she said.

He smiled. “Only about things that matter.”

She thought about it for a second. Honestly, she was tired. The idea of waiting for a taxi didn’t appeal to her anymore.

“Alright then,” she nodded. “Thank you.”

They walked out of the apartment together. The hallway was silent, the elevator ride quiet but not awkward. When they reached the car, Lennox opened the door for her. She noticed it, but didn’t comment.

The drive was smooth. No unnecessary talk. Just soft music playing in the background.

When the car stopped in front of her apartment building, Riyana unbuckled her seatbelt and turned to him.

“Thank you so much for the ride,” she said sincerely. “I’ll be on time tomorrow.”

Lennox nodded. “Alright. Good night.”

“Good night,” she replied with a small smile.

She stepped out of the car, closed the door, and gave a polite wave. Lennox waved back before driving away.

Riyana stood there for a moment, watching his car disappear down the road.

She took a deep breath.

The night air felt cool against her skin. For a brief second, she felt calm.

Then she turned around.

And froze.

Jabco was standing right there.

In front of her apartment building.

Both his hands were shoved into his pants pockets. His posture was stiff. His jaw was tight. And his eyes… his eyes were sharp enough to cut through her.

The calm she felt vanished instantly.

Riyana swallowed and walked toward him.
