My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 307

Riyana hesitated, then spoke slowly. “After I left work, Jabco started acting strange"

She swallowed. “Then… he saw me with John.”

Lily frowned. “so?”

“ He misunderstood everything. He thought… he thought John and I were getting married.”

Lily stared at her. “Married?”

“Yes,” Riyana said, bitterness creeping into her voice. "And I also lied to him"

“So he destroyed John’s company because of his own imagination?” Lily’s voice rose despite herself.

Riyana nodded again.

Lily stood up suddenly. “That man has lost his mind.”

“Lily...”

“No,” Lily cut her off. “This is not normal jealousy. This is obsession. I will talk to him.”

She reached for her phone.

Riyana grabbed her wrist. “Please don’t.”

Lily looked down at her, shocked. “Why not?”

“I can handle Jabco myself,” Riyana said. “If you get involved, it will only make things worse.”

“Worse than this?” Lily asked sharply.

“Yes,” Riyana said. “Especially now.”

Lily searched her face. “Now what?”

Riyana looked away. “You just got back with David. I don’t want any misunderstanding between you two"

Lily slowly sat back down. Her anger didn’t fade, but something else appeared in her eyes. Concern.

She studied Riyana carefully. “There’s something else, isn’t there?”

Riyana let out a short laugh, bitter and tired. “I got married.”

She turned to Riyana, eyes wide. “What did you just say?”

“I got married,” Riyana repeated.

Lily’s mouth opened slightly, then closed again. For a few seconds, her mind went completely blank.

“Married… to who?” she finally asked, though she already knew the answer, yet hoping she was wrong.

Riyana didn’t look at her. “To Jabco.”

The world seemed to pause.

Lily stared at her, disbelief written all over her face. “You’re joking.”

“I’m not.”

“When?” Lily asked.

“This morning.”

Lily stood up again, pacing in front of the bench. “Why would you do that? Riyana, why would you choose to marry him?”

Riyana’s eyes filled with tears, but none fell.

“I didn’t choose love,” she said softly. “I chose damage control.”

Lily stopped pacing. She turned slowly, staring at Riyana as if she were seeing her for the first time.

“Damage control?” she repeated.

For a moment, Lily said nothing. Then she scoffed. “That man is insane. And so are you.”

“I didn’t have a choice,” Riyana snapped, finally turning to face her. “He cornered me. He didn’t give me time to think. One moment I was so anger and next I was signing a marriage license.”

Lily softened her voice. “Riyana… this isn’t normal. You know that, right?”

Riyana nodded slowly. “I know. But it’s done. On paper, I’m his wife now.”
