My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 612

Hannah and Samuel walked in and sat on the sofa, their expressions grim as they stared him down.

Under their intense gaze, Lionel felt a chill run down his spine, a wave of guilt washing over him.

He didn't even dare to speak too loudly.

After a long, tense silence filled the room, Lionel finally spoke. “Hannah, you must have heard I was injured, so you came to see me. It’s not that serious, you don’t have to worry.”

Samuel couldn't help but let out a snort of laughter.

“You’re unbelievably shameless, you know that? You can say anything with a straight face. I’m sure you know exactly why we’re here.”

“Lionel, tell me why you went there yesterday,” Hannah demanded, her face dark and menacing.

“Why did you do it? Why did you interfere in my affairs? Do you have any idea that because of your interference, I missed out on crucial information? You’ve got until I lose my patience. Start talking.”

Hannah feigned extreme anger, her eyes boring into him, her words laced with a fiery rage that made her fury palpable.

Seeing her like this, Lionel’s heart skipped a beat. He swallowed hard, a nervous tension gripping him.

He took a deep breath, ready to speak, but it felt as if a water-soaked sponge was lodged in his throat, choking him and preventing any sound from escaping.

He had no idea how to explain himself. Their relationship was so strained now that no matter what he said, Hannah wouldn't believe him.

But if he didn't offer some explanation, he would only make her angrier.

After much thought, Lionel finally said, “I have my own ways of getting information. How I found out is my business, you don't need to worry about it.”
