Deep down, Cherry almost wants him to sell her out—that way, there’d be another show to watch.
But if he did betray her, their cooperation would be over, and she would have to find resources elsewhere. So, it was better for him to just stick to the script.
After leaving the hospital, Cherry went straight home.
She relayed her entire conversation at the hospital to Hannah.
Hannah and Samuel listened in silence. Neither of them could believe that even in his current state, Lionel was still trying to negotiate terms. The man was an absolute fool.
“Hannah, when do you plan on going?”
Hannah thought for a moment. “Tonight sounds good.”
She had to go sooner or later, so she might as well get it over with.
Besides, Hannah was secretly eager to see how Lionel would react when she followed Cherry’s script—what he would say, the expression on his face.
The anticipation was thrilling, so it was better to go soon.
Hannah was also worried that if she delayed for a few days, the impact would be lost.
After all, the character she was playing was someone desperate to meet those people and find her mother.
If she waited too long, it would seem like she wasn't that eager, which would come off as insincere. If Lionel caught on, it would ruin everything.
“Hannah, when you go, can I come with you? You know me, I love the drama and can’t stay out of it. I just want to watch, please?” Samuel asked eagerly.
