Chapter 87 Nina’s Big Appetite

Nina thought the “cards” Benjamin mentioned were the same kind of game cards Lucien liked. She nodded happily, fully accepting the gift.

“Daddy, buy lots!” she laughed.

Benjamin answered calmly, “I’ll buy you a lot.”

They were happily talking past each other. Amelia, who understood everything, wisely zipped her lips.

Soon, the three of them returned to the Graham Residence.

William and Daniel weren’t back. Only this little family of three arrived home on time for dinner.

At the dinner table, Benjamin kept his usual rule of “speak little, eat quietly.”

Because he didn’t talk, Amelia subconsciously spoke less too.

The fewer the words, the stiffer the atmosphere became.

Right at this critical moment, Nina solved the problem in her own… special way.

Her chubby hand grabbed the meatball she’d bitten once, and she dropped it into Benjamin’s plate. “Daddy, eat!”

Nina seemed to be generously sharing her food, but in reality, she just didn’t want the meatball anymore and feared Amelia would scold her for tossing it out.

Giving it to Benjamin meant she didn’t have to eat it, and she also avoided getting scolded.

Smart Nina had plenty of little schemes.

Amelia saw through her instantly and felt speechless.

She said, “Nina, take the meatball back. You squeezed it into that mess-how is Daddy supposed to eat it?”

Anything Nina ate was always messy beyond saving.

Even Amelia, who adored her daughter endlessly, couldn’t bring herself to eat Nina’s leftovers.

So with Benjamin’s clean-freak tendencies, this was torture.

But Nina didn’t think it was gross at all. She actually thought giving food to Benjamin was a kind of reward.

Nina huffed, unhappy, and argued back, “Nina good! Daddy eat! Nina so good!”

After forcing her food on him, she even praised herself.

Amelia had only one comment. “Nina, your skin is getting a little thick.”

Their bickering oddly made Benjamin’s meal more enjoyable. He even ate more than usual.

Of course, his exercise routine was equally intense.

He held himself to strict standards in everything, including his physical condition.

In the end, Benjamin really did cat the meatball Nina gave him.

Nina was watching him with those big eyes the whole time. He had no choice.

Her expression made it plain that if he didn’t eat Nina’s meatball, it meant he didn’t love her anymore!

Sensing this meatball was tied to an emotional landmine, Benjamin forced down his revulsion and swallowed it.

After dinner, Benjamin had things to take care of, and Amelia stayed with Nina.

“Mommy, Un-coo Dan’el, why not home yet?” Nina asked.

After not seeing Daniel the entire day, Nina started missing him.

Amelia didn’t chat much privately with Daniel, so she didn’t know why he didn’t come home.

“Nina miss Un-coo Dan’el! Miss Dan’el!” Nina repeated loudly.

Amelia pinched her chubby cheek and smiled, “Daniel is busy. He’ll play with you when he comes home.”

Amelia originally didn’t plan to take Nina out after dinner.

But Nina kept hopping between crying for William and crying for Daniel.

Amelia had no choice but to take her out for a walk.

The moment Nina heard they were going out, she instantly brightened—and even named the destination.

“Mommy, eat!” she said.

“You just ate,” Amelia replied.

“Eat food! Many food!”

It took Amelia a long while-plus Nina’s exaggerated gestures-before she finally realized Nina meant the snack street.

Benjamin had taken Nina to one before, but Amelia didn’t know which one.

So she brought Nina to a different snack street, one she was familiar with and even harder to find.

This snack street wasn’t the same one, but-by chance-Nina found the person she wanted.

Alice wasn’t running a stall tonight. Instead, she was rushing around delivering food.

Nina let go of Amelia’s hand and took off running.
