Chapter 65 A Call He Had to Answer
Having a doctor at home was much more convenient than going to the hospital.
Nina threw up again in the car. This time it was only yellow stomach fluid.
Amelia touched her back and felt a bit of heat.

The driver suggested, “Ms. Parker, we’re about to pass the Graham family’s office building. Mr. Benjamin Graham is upstairs right now. Do you want to let him know about Nina?”
The driver’s reminder made Amelia suddenly remember-Nina had another parent.
She agreed that Benjamin should know Nina was sick.
“Alright, I’ll call him.” She dialed Benjamin’s number.
Inside a suffocatingly tense conference room, a phone suddenly rang, slicing through the already heavy atmosphere.
A major business error had been discovered, and everyone was holding their breath under Benjamin’s icy silence.
The ringtone felt like a death sentence, making everyone flinch in their seats.
Someone couldn’t hold back and whispered shakily, “Whose phone is it? Are they tired of living? Turn it off!”
Everyone shook their heads. Their phones had all been on silent.
At the head of the table, Benjamin suddenly reached for his phone and stood up.
“What happened to Nina?” he asked.
His voice was low; he didn’t need to guess.
She usually avoided him like the plague.
They were still WhatsApp contacts, sure-she chatted in the family group all the time-but private messages to him? Almost never.
Amelia explained, “Nina threw up. And I think she’s running a fever. We’re heading home now. The car is passing your building, so I thought I should…”
Benjamin said immediately, “Stop downstairs. I’m coming down now.”
Amelia blinked and replied, “Okay.”
She had only wanted to inform him. She hadn’t expected Benjamin to drop his work to meet them.
But since he said it, she could only tell the driver to stop.

Chapter 65 A Call He Had to Answer
Very soon, the car pulled up right in front of the Graham Group building.

The security guard rushed over, planning to stop the car. One look at the license plate, and his whole attitude flipped from tense to respectful.
He hurried forward to open the door, but Amelia rolled the window down and shook her head.
Inside the car, Nina was still crying.
Her stomach hurt, and she couldn’t stop. She cried for two seconds, paused to breathe, then cried again.
Amelia kept soothing her, her own eyes turning red.
“Nina, once we’re home, you’ll feel better. We’ll take some medicine, okay?”
“No! No meds!”
Even with a fever, Nina wasn’t out of it yet. She refused medicine with all her tiny might.
Two of them-one was crying, the other was coaxing.
The security guard stared, completely lost.
That license plate belongs to the Graham family. So why does everyone in the car look… unrelated?
Before he could sort his thoughts, Benjamin came out of the building.
He walked over in long strides and opened the car door.
The moment Nina saw him, she reached out her chubby arms.
“Daddy! Hug! No meds!” she wailed and leaned toward Benjamin.
He slid inside the back seat and gathered the crying Nina into his arms as the driver pulled away immediately.
The security guard stood there watching the car disappear, stunned for a long moment before slapping his forehead.
“Damn, Mr. Graham has a kid?!” he said in disbelief.
Benjamin was young, handsome, brilliant, and the powerful head of the Graham Group,
Most importantly, he was single.
Half the women working in this company dreamed of catching his eye.
Everyone still fantasized about some workplace-romance fairytale-yet in real life, their cold, unattainable CEO already had a child, and none of them had known.
The guard could almost hear the sound of shattered dreams.
