Trapped, Nina was a mix of desperation and sorrow. With a sudden, heart-wrenching wail, she burst into

tears.

Daniel was left scratching his head at her outburst.

He said, “Come on, stop the waterworks. Why are you crying? Thought you hated Zoe, right? I got rid of her. So what’s with the tears?”

He was truly puzzled by Nina’s unexpected reaction.

Held firmly in Daniel’s grasp, Nina sniffled with a quivering baby voice.

“No… Not bad lady… She good… She sad, can’t talk… Bad guy bully her. Nina help! Nina good!”

As Nina babbled on about the good lady she’d brought back, it was as if a thunderbolt struck Daniel.

The girl who bore an uncanny resemblance to Zoe.

She couldn’t utter a word.

And those innocent, crystal-clear eyes.

All these signs led to one person-the very person Daniel had been yearning to find!

“It’s her!” Daniel blanched.

Without a second thought, he dropped Nina and bolted out.

Finally, the sense of urgency hit him, and he rushed to chase after her.

But it was already too late.

Alice had disappeared into thin air.

Daniel kept scouring the area, but there was no sign of her. Meanwhile, Nina’s sobs echoed through the place, catching Amelia and Benjamin’s attention.

“Nina, what’s the matter?” Amelia scooped up the crying child, tenderly dabbing at her tears.

Nina tearfully recounted how Daniel had wronged Alice and then gone off in search of her.

Amelia was utterly bewildered.

She had no clue that Alice looked just like Zoe.

“Okay, okay. Don’t cry. Uncle Daniel will find the nice lady,” Amelia cooed, trying to console the sobbing little girl.

Then she carried her to the dining room.

She settled Nina into the high-chair and handed her the bowl.

To divert her attention, Amelia brought up a new topic. “Grandpa got you a phone watch. It’s here. Once you’re done with your meal, I’ll show you how to use it.

“Then you can call your friends.”

“Nelson!” Nina’s face lit up at the mention of calling. “Call Nelson!”

Amelia knew how smitten Nina was with Nelson, so she nodded and smiled, “Sure thing, we’ll give Nelson a call.”

“Mommy, call-” Nina couldn’t contain her eagerness.

She tossed the spoon aside and reached out for the phone watch.

Amelia was taken aback.

As she glanced at the fallen spoon, her smile faded. “Nina, pick up the spoon.”

Nina slapped the table with her chubby little hand and shouted, “I want phone!”

“Pick it up,” Amelia said again.

Nina shook her head stubbornly and kept chanting. “Mommy, phone!”

Amelia fell silent, fixing a firm gaze on Nina.

Nina, who’d been pampered by the Graham family recently, instinctively rubbed her little bottom under Amelia’s stern look.

After gently patting her chubby little bottom, Nina let out a soft sniffle and wriggled out of the high-chair.

It was quite a challenge for her short legs to crawl in and out just to grab the dropped spoon.

Standing nearby, the nanny was eager to lend a hand. However, Amelia’s sharp glance quickly stopped her in her tracks.

Benjamin, too, had the urge to bend down and pick up the spoon, but he held back the moment he caught a glimpse of Amelia’s steely expression.

“Mommy, spoon!” Nina exclaimed, clambering back with the spoon tightly clutched in her tiny hand. She flashed Amelia a sweet, toothy smile,

Seeing that Nina had finally settled down, Amelia wiped the spoon clean and let her continue with her meal.

With Amelia keeping a close eye on her, Nina managed to have a relatively peaceful lunch.

After the meal, Amelia tenderly rubbed Nina’s little belly and pulled out the phone watch.

“Look, baby. This is a picture of Mommy. If you wanna call me, just tap on the picture twice, okay?” she said,
