Chapter 524 Fully Cheered up Again

Nina knew exactly who Benjamin was.

She answered the call loudly, “Yes.”

The woman on the line asked again. “Then who are you?”

Nina didn’t even have to think twice. “Nina.”

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line.

Then she asked. “Can you hand the phone over to Benjamin?”

Nina said nothing in reply.

She pulled the phone away from her car, poked the screen with her chubby little finger, and hung up call.

Nina had no intention of giving the phone to Benjamin-she wanted to play with it all by herself.

Barely seconds after she ended the call, the same number rang again.

Nina answered, then hung up right away.

She repeated this back-and-forth several times, until the caller finally stopped dialing.

With no more incoming calls, Nina tapped around on the phone screen for a while longer, then tossed the cellphone down onto the floor with a loud thud.

The hair dryer was whirring loudly enough to cover the sound of the phone hitting the ground.

Even so, Benjamin glanced over suddenly, as if he’d sensed something was off.

One look at Nina, and his expression turned stern at once.

He said, “Amelia, Nina just threw my phone on the floor.”

Amelia looked over in surprise. “Nina, what are you doing?”

Still sitting on the bed. Nina didn’t even turn her head when she heard Amelia’s voice. She simply climbed down to the floor to pick the phone up first.

Benjamin’s phone was pretty durable. It only had a tiny crack on the screen from the fall and still worked perfectly fine.

Nina picked it up. padding over to Amelia barefoot with her chubby feet. “Mommy, here.”

She held the phone out to Amelia with a silly grin.

Amelia took the phone. frowned, and said to her gently but firmly. “It’s not okay to throw Daddy’s phone. Do you know that? Tell Mommy, why did you throw it?”

She never scolded Nina harshly right off the bat. She always took the time to talk things through with her first.

Nina pouted, looking all wronged as she mumbled her reason. “Nina no open.”

She meant she couldn’t unlock Benjamin’s phone.

Amelia kept pressing softly, “You got mad because you couldn’t open Daddy’s phone, so you threw it down on purpose, didn’t you?”

Nina nodded honestly. “Yeah.”

Amelia let out a slow breath, then made it clear once more that this kind of behavior was never acceptable.

While Amelia sat down to talk some sense into Nina, Benjamin kept working on drying her hair.

By the time he finished completely, Nina had gotten through her scolding.

Still upset over being disciplined before bedtime, Nina gave Amelia the silent treatment for a short while.

It didn’t last long, though-soon, she was clinging to Amelia again.

She snuggled her chubby body right into Amelia’s arms and buried her face in the crook of her neck.

Her voice still sounded a little hurt and sad. “Mommy, Nina wuv you.”

Nina had wanted to stay mad at Amelia, yet her love for Amelia was far too strong to stay upset.

Amelia’s heart melted right away at the sound of her hurt tone. “Mommy loves you so much, too, Nina. From now on, be a good girl for us, okay?”

Nina agreed without hesitation, “Okay.”

Right after nodding, she tilted her head up to kiss Amelia’s cheek, then wriggled around comfortably in ner arms until she drifted off to sleep.

After Nina fell asleep, Benjamin and Amelia stayed awake for a while longer.

It was then that Benjamin noticed a few missed calls on his phone.

He had no intention of calling the number back.

Benjamin spotted something else when he opened his WhatsApp-that same number had sent him a

message.

Amelia leaned over to take a look as well.

“Who’s that?” she asked curiously.

Benjamin shook his head. “No idea.”

He ignored the message completely.

Benjamin didn’t add just anyone to his WhatsApp contact list.

He tossed his phone aside and pulled Amelia tight into his embrace.

The room was dim and quiet, wrapped in a soft, warm glow.

Amelia leaned in and kissed Benjamin’s lips on her own. “Alright, let’s sleep. I’m not staying up late tonight. I have a filming shoot tomorrow.”

Her upcoming scenes were tricky, and she wanted to get plenty of rest beforehand.
