Although Zoe’s mishap had put a halt to her own part in the play, Daniel had told Amelia it wouldn’t affect the overall production.

Amelia held this precious filming chance dear to her heart.

She’d already committed all the lines to memory!

Now, she aimed to dig deeper into the character’s psyche.

At home, Amelia was fully engrossed in her preparations. Outside, Nina, sitting on Daniel’s lap in the car, started to act up.

“Nelson! Nelson!”

Nina hadn’t seen Nelson for a couple of days and missed him something fierce.

Maybe it was Nelson’s good looks that made Nina’s affection for him so evident.

Hearing “Nelson”, Daniel felt a twinge of annoyance.

“Sweetheart, there’ll be loads of kids where we’re headed. They’ll play with you. Don’t just be stuck on Nelson,” he said gently.

Daniel hoped to get Nina to look beyond just one friend.

There were plenty of kids around for her to make friends with.

All Daniel’s coaxing on the way didn’t do much good. When they reached the place, Nina still had a frown on her face.

She wasn’t buying Daniel’s words!

Daniel didn’t waste any time and carried the little one out of the car.

The banquet was held at the Wilson family’s private estate, a real beauty.

As soon as Nina got there, she spotted the balloons. She wriggled out of Daniel’s arms and made a beeline for them.

Just as her chubby hand was about to grab a balloon, a boy in a little white suit came over and pushed her down.

He said angrily, “No touch balloons! It’s for decoration, you can’t have ’em!”

The boy was really mean. Nina, who landed on the ground, puckered her lips and let out a wail.

Daniel was fuming.

He recognized the boy as Barry Wilson, the five-year-old son of a Wilson family scion. But he couldn’t care

With a gloomy face, he was ready to teach the kid a lesson!

But before he could move, Nina, still crying loudly, got up from the grass and charged straight at Barry, head down.

Barry was kind of skinny, and Nina knocked him over!

After that, Nina wasn’t done. She started slapping Barry’s face, hard.

Daniel was so shocked. Damn! Just like Benjamin!

Nina’s ruckus soon brought a crowd over.

Mia, the birthday girl, showed up with Freya by her side.

“Whose kid is this? So rowdy!” Mia, in her fancy dress, didn’t recognize Nina and spoke in a snotty tone.

“Get her up! Barry’s in tears. Whose kid is she?” Mia demanded to know, looking around accusingly.

Daniel, standing nearby with his arms crossed, said nonchalantly, “Mine. Try and touch my little girl, and see what happens.”

His little princess was still in the middle of her “fight”, and Daniel wouldn’t let anyone stop her.

His tone was calm, but his message was clear.

Mia was livid, and she snapped, “Daniel, what’s with you? Your kid’s beating up Barry. Aren’t you gonna do something?”

Daniel retorted, “No way! That little brat dared to lay his hands on my baby first!”

As soon as Daniel spoke up, Freya knew right away that Barry had started the trouble.

Without hesitation, she reached out and grabbed Mia’s arm, giving her a little tug to signal that it was time to zip it.

Then, facing Barry, Freya laid down the law. “Barry, if you’re the one who picked on her, you gotta say sorry.”

Barry’s sobs turned into something that sounded like a pig squealing.

He really didn’t wanna apologize, but he was scared stiff of Freya!

There was no way out. Under Freya’s steady stare, he sniffled and managed to blurt out an apology.

Once he did, Nina, who’d been straddling Barry, finally climbed off and tucked her little hands away.

She was still crying, though.

Wiping her tears with a chubby fist, she leaned her tiny body against Daniel’s leg. In a wobbly, baby-like voice, she stammered, “Nina… strong! No bully!”
