Chapter 418 Coax Nina Away

The more Catherine watched Nina, the harder it seemed to let her go.

William, who had been shown the door earlier, was fully aware of Catherine’s unusual level of attention toward Nina.

Nina had such a blast at Catherine’s house that even at night, freshly bathed and lying in Benjamin and Amelia’s bed, she was still talking about her.

“Mommy, sweep wif Grandma?” she asked, not done playing and wanting to go to Catherine’s room.

Amelia said, “She is asleep. We’ll see her tomorrow.”

“No! No!” Nina sat up in bed.

She held out her chubby little arms, wanting Amelia to carry her to Catherine’s room to sleep.

Amelia, worried about disturbing Catherine, held firm.

After a brief standoff, Nina squeezed her eyes shut and started to cry, “Sweep wif Grandma! Want Grandma!”

Nina’s crying fits were hard to manage. Just as Amelia was getting a headache, Benjamin scooped Nina up.

“Fine. You can sleep with your grandma tonight,” he said carrying her off the bed with a calm expression as he went to find Catherine.

Amelia, feeling a bit embarrassed, asked, “Nina can be restless at night. Won’t sending her over disturb Catherine’s rest?”

She was trying to be considerate.

But Benjamin saw no problem with it.

“It’s just one night. It’s fine,” he said plainly.

Nina wasn’t that bad.

Besides, Catherine clearly adored Nina. Sending Nina to her felt more like offering a treat-much like how Nina thought letting adults feed her was a reward for them.

Amelia stared at Benjamin’s completely unbothered attitude as he carried Nina away, momentarily speechless.

A short while later, Nina got her wish, snuggling in Catherine’s bed.

She had brought a picture book and a toy with her.

“Grandma, look togewder?” she invited, holding up the book.

For the moment, she seemed perfectly well-behaved.

Catherine leaned close, catching the sweet, clean scent from her.

When she wasn’t crying or fussing, Nina was a perfect little angel.

Catherine stayed in bed with her, looking at the book. Meanwhile, back in Benjamin and Amelia’s bedroom, the door was locked.

Amelia knew exactly what that meant.

She gave Benjamin a light shove. “Benjamin, not here. It’s not… convenient.”

Before she could finish protesting, Benjamin pulled out a small square packet-a condom.

Amelia’s eyes widened. “When did you buy that?”

Benjamin didn’t answer.

One arm wrapped around Amelia’s soft waist as he looked down at her lovely face. With his other hand holding the packet, he used his teeth to tear it open.

But he didn’t put it on himself.

He handed it to Amelia.
