Chapter 308 Accepting the Criticism

Nina frowned, clearly unhappy about this.

Her displeasure still showing, she looked up at Brian as he passed him.

Nina didn’t really like Brian.

But… Brian gave her treats.

Torn between not liking him and wanting the tasty fruits, Nina wrestled with the dilemma for two whole seconds before reluctantly raising her chubby little hand to wave at him. “Bye-bye.”

After saying goodbye, she went home with Daniel.

Because she was still sick, Benjamin didn’t go to work at all, and Amelia went out early but returned quickly.

The two of them looked at Nina, brought back by Danie, but before they could speak, they heard Nina’s cough.

It didn’t sound any better.

Amelia’s brow furrowed. After dinner, she continued giving Nina her medicine.

Nina’s doses were administered on time.

Amelia also asked the kitchen to make a soup to help relieve her cough.

Before bedtime, Amelia even applied a medicated patch for Nina.

But in the middle of the night, Nina’s fever spiked again.

Seeing Nina’s recurring fever, Benjamin suggested going back to the hospital for another check-up.

Amelia shook her head. “It won’t help. This viral cold just causes repeated fevers. We have all the medicine we need.

“Let’s wait a little longer.”

Based on Amelia’s experience, Nina usually improved by the third day.

But this time was strange.

It had been three days, and not only had Nina’s cough not lessened, but her phlegm had also increased.

Nina was too young to cough up the phlegm properly.

With her nose stuffed, she couldn’t sleep well and was fussy for the past two nights.

Both Benjamin and Amelia were exhausted.

After tiring out the adults at home, Nina still wanted to go out and play during the day.

She didn’t go anywhere else, just kept insisting on finding Chloe.

Then she came back from seeing Chloe in high spirits.

Chapter 308 Accepting the Criticism

Nina swung between happiness and misery, keeping everyone on their toes.

Amelia and Benjamin’s moods, however, were consistently unified.

They had nothing to be happy about.

Amelia was baffled. “What’s going on? We didn’t give Nina the wrong medicine. I treated her the same way before. Why is she so difficult this time?”

After worrying, she decided to take Nina for a nebulizer treatment.

Nina was getting worse, so she had to.

Hearing Amelia’s plan, Benjamin immediately went to pick Nina up.

Moments later, Nina, who had been caught, was kicking her legs vigorously in Benjamin’s arms.

She shouted, “Daddy! No hold me! Me find Brian!”

The Graham family knew she had taken a liking to Brian lately.

But right now, she needed the treatment, not playtime.

Amelia had Benjamin carry her. They didn’t do the treatment at home but went to the hospital instead.

Amelia wanted the doctor to examine her again.

Once at the hospital, realizing the doctor was for her, Nina began to struggle violently. “Mommy, Nina go home. No doctor!”

Nina cried and refused to see the doctor, but the doctor still came.

The two adults held her down together to finish the nebulizer treatment. Afterward, the doctor called his friend from the Traditional Medicine Department, Joseph Foster, to take a look at Nina.

Joseph checked Nina’s color and looked at her tongue.

After his examination, he frowned. “How can this child get better if her diet isn’t being restricted?

“She needs to avoid raw fruits, as well as sweets and spicy food.

“Didn’t Caleb tell you these instructions?”

Caleb Stewart was the doctor who had administered the nebulizer.

Hearing this, Caleb protested from the side, “Of course told them all the instructions!”

Seeing his defense, Joseph immediately turned his gaze to Amelia and Benjamin.

He said, “Then you aren’t listening at all.

“This child’s diet hasn’t been restricted at all.

“If she continues like this, all the medicine you’re giving her is useless.”
