Chapter 189 Wait Until I Grow Bigger

William meant every word.

Raising children his whole life, Nina was the only one who gave him this much emotional reward.

So tiny, yet she already knew how to make adults feel loved!

The car pulled into the mall. William carried Nina up to the third-floor play area.

The moment they arrived, Nina remembered a friend she hadn’t seen in ages.

She poked her little phone watch and called Nelson, “Nelson, play together!”

Nelson had gone abroad with his dad. He sent Nina gifts, but he hadn’t come back.

At first, Nina missed him a lot. Now with other playmates, she rarely asked for him anymore.

Back in the play area, she suddenly wanted him again.

She thought this invitation would fall flat, too. But to her surprise, Nelson on the video call actually nodded. “Okay.”

His handsome little face stayed cool and expressionless as always.

Nina didn’t find his cold demeanor off-putting at all-she was a total sucker for good looks.

Nelson said he’d come-and half an hour later, he really showed up at the play area.

“Nelson!” When Nina saw he had actually come, her eyes lit up

like stars.

She ran over on stubby legs and threw her arms around him. “Nina miss you so much!”

Her sweet little words made Nelson reach out and gently pinch her cheek.

“I brought my card.” He told Nina, “Today I’ll buy you lots of toys.”

The two little ones played together while William watched from the side.

Nina didn’t rush to buy toys-she wanted to play in the area first.

Nelson held her hand and went in with her.

The play area was full of things to do. The two ran around nonstop.

William sat smiling, eyes only on the pair. He never noticed the gaze watching him from the shadows. That gaze watched him… then shifted to Nina.

“Nelson, I fell!”

In the foam pit, Nina fell every couple of steps.

It didn’t hurt, but she insisted on shouting, “Nelson, save me!”

She splashed around in the foam pit. Nelson was small too, not very tall, and he actually moved quite slowly.

But he walked steadily. He had already figured out how not to fall.

“Nina, I take you out,” Nelson said, pulling her chubby hand and helping her up.

After being pulled up, Nina didn’t want to walk anymore.

She opened her arms wide. “Nelson, hug me.”

She wanted Nelson to carry her out of the foam pit.

Nelson hesitated for once.

After that brief pause, he looked at Nina, still asking for a hug, and decisively reached out his small arms.

The next second, both of them fell down together.

Nina was a little dazed. “Nelson, I fell again!”

Nelson climbed up, pressed his lips together, and said softly, “I’m sorry.”

He lowered his head slightly as he apologized. “I’m not grown up yet. I can’t carry you right now. Can you wait for me to grow up?”

He made a promise. “When I get bigger, I can carry you.”

Nina nodded, very agreeable. “Okay!”

She agreed to wait until Nelson grew up to carry her.

William sat by the edge of the foam pit, watching the two of them move around. He smiled and

didn’t interfere.

Time passed little by little.

Nina played in the playground for a full two hours and still didn’t want to leave.

She didn’t want to go, but William wanted to carry her out.

“Nina, let’s go to the restroom, okay?” he said.

Nina wasn’t wearing a diaper today.

She didn’t wear one during the day anymore. Only at night when she slept.
