Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 117

Chapter 117 Something in the Dream

2 Finished

She only remembered that she had put on the sleep mask, and after closing her eyes once, it was already the next day.

When she woke up, it was already a bit late.

Benjamin and Nina had finished washing up and eaten breakfast.

The doctor checked her again. After confirming there were no complications, he told her she could go home and rest.

On the way back, the happiest one was Nina.

Nina finally didn’t have to stay in the hospital anymore. She sat in the car and chatted excitedly the whole

ride.

“Mommy, go home. Play car! Eat meat. Where Grandpa”

Nina couldn’t connect her thoughts when she spoke. She just said whatever popped into her head.

The moment she thought of her grandpa, she grabbed her smartwatch again.

“Mommy, call. Fix it.” Nina thought her watch was broken.

She held it up, waiting for Amelia to repair it.

Amelia tapped the screen a few times and connected a video call with William.

William was supposed to come home at around eight tonight.

But when the call connected, he was already home.

He looked like he had just walked in.

He said happily, “Nina, do you miss me? I’m waiting for you at home!

“I bought you lots of toys.

“Hurry back so you can see them.”

Seeing the grandpa she missed so much and hearing the word “toys,” Nina touched the screen with both hands, giggling as if she wanted to crawl inside the device to find him.

Fortunately, William coaxed her quickly, or Nina would have kept insisting on climbing through the screen.

William said, “Nina, I’ll introduce someone to you.

“This is my younger brother.

“He heard you were coming back and got very excited.

“He came back especially to see you.

“Are you happy?”

Chapter 117 Something in the Dream

The man William introduced was named Ryan.

He and William were brothers legally, though not by blood.

Ryan had been adopted by the Graham family. He was the child of a deceased close friend.

Before passing away, that friend had entrusted Ryan to the Graham family.

The Graham family treated him as their own and never lacked in providing for him materially.

But over the years, Ryan spent most of his time abroad. He had an estate overseas, a wife, children, and even grandchildren.

This time, he returned with his eight-year-old grandson just to visit Nina.

“Nina, say hello,” William coaxed gently.

But the moment Nina saw the man on the screen, she froze-because she recognized him.

He was the man from her dream-the one who pushed William down the stairs.

In the dream, William had fallen and could not move.

Then he went to the hospital, and the doctor said he had died.

Thinking about that terrifying dream, Nina’s mouth trembled. She turned and dived into Benjamin’s arms.

“No! No him!”

Because Amelia was injured, Benjamin had reminded Nina not to pounce on Amelia.

So Nina only threw herself into Benjamin’s arms now.

She buried her face against him and burst into tears. “No want him!”

Her reaction was clearly fear.

Benjamin held her close and gently patted her back. His voice was low as he tried to comfort her, “Don’t cry. I didn’t give you to him. Don’t cry.”

Benjamin’s comfort was a little stiff, and Nina didn’t understand anything he said.

Her tears fell fast, big drops sliding down her cheeks. She was truly crying now.

Amelia felt her heart twist painfully.

She held the watch in her hands, unsure whether to end the call.

Hanging up suddenly might embarrass William.

But if she didn’t hang up, Nina would cry harder each time she saw Ryan.

While Amelia hesitated, Benjamin freed one hand, took the watch, and said calmly into the speaker, “Dad, Nina is crying. I’ll settle her first.”
