Inside the top-tier nursing home, up in the penthouse VIP suite.
The elderly woman, Kiera Montrose, finished a comprehensive battery of tests. Once the doctors confirmed there was no serious lingering damage, a nurse escorted her back to her room.
The moment she walked through the door...
She saw Isabella, dressed in an elegant flowing gown, sitting perfectly by the bed, gently massaging her grandfather Holden Vinton's legs.
"Grandma!" Isabella stood up the moment she saw Kiera, rushing forward with a face full of frantic worry. "Edmund just told me you nearly had an accident outside. You terrified me!"
Her eyes were slightly red, her expression steeped in lingering fear. "I wanted to go check on you, but the doctors said you were running tests and wouldn't let me in."
Holden, a man with a stern face, immediately sat up straight. Though he didn't say a word, worry was etched into every line of his face.
"I'm fine, my dear." Kiera patted Isabella's hand, chuckling warmly. "Thanks to a wonderful young girl, my life was saved."
As soon as she mentioned the girl, her face lit up with excitement. "I was just at the shopping district nearby, wanting to pick up some gifts for you and that never-before-seen granddaughter of mine. Who knew my heart would give out like that? I couldn't even reach my medication in time... Thank goodness a young girl stepped in and treated me with a few needles. I felt better instantly! She was a thousand times more effective than those doctors with all their fancy machines!"
"What miracle doctor? You probably just wandered off and got scammed by one of those supplement peddlers," Holden grumbled, a hint of exasperation softening his authoritative features.
"I'm not that stupid!" Kiera glared at her husband. She eagerly launched into the story of how she had narrowly escaped death and how the young Elyndor girl had pulled her back from the brink using silver needles.
The more she talked, the more excited she became, her words dripping with absolute adoration for the girl.
Isabella tried to interject several times, but she simply couldn't cut through her grandmother's endless stream of praise for a total stranger.
The smile on Isabella's face remained sweet and attentive, but the moment she lowered her eyelashes, a violent surge of jealousy churned in her eyes.
She hadn't seen her grandmother in years!
She had flown all the way to the United Realmon States just to visit her, even while dealing with her own health issues!
