Serena was leaning back calmly in her chair, one hand idly toying with the raw stone.
Her gaze was lowered, casual and indifferent, showing no reaction to the challenge Dr. Kerrick had presented.
Seeing Serena like that, Hailey figured that backwater nobody didn't even understand the challenge Dr. Kerrick had set!
She was acting like she'd never seen a gemstone before.
She held the raw stone as if it were a priceless treasure, looking like she was dying to stuff it in her pocket and sneak it away.
What a country bumpkin!
A small sense of relief washed over Hailey.
All she had to do was crush Serena. Then she could keep hammering the point that Serena wasn't qualified to vote, question the fairness of the competition, and create enough chaos to muddle the whole thing.
They wanted to humiliate her, to make her life difficult?
Then no one was going to have a good time.
If it came down to it, she would ruin this competition for everyone!
She tore her gaze away and focused on her own stone, her mind racing to find a design idea from her collection of manuscripts that could be used to repair this natural fissure.
"If there are no objections from either of you, the clock starts now."
Dr. Kerrick gave the signal, and the countdown began.
Hailey's plan sounded great in her head.
But for someone who had never taken her studies seriously in school and had only started cramming design knowledge recently, the task of mending a raw stone with a brush was far too difficult.
Even if she wanted to borrow ideas from the manuscripts and use intricate patterns to cover the fissure, she had no idea how to actually draw them!
Under the camera's gaze, the brush in her hand trembled. She was a fumbling mess.
The lines she drew were chaotic and disorganized. She even mixed the colors wrong, creating a hideous, clumpy mess!
Even someone who knew nothing about design could see it…
Hailey was crashing and burning!
