Dr. Dawson, his face full of awe, bowed respectfully to Serena. "Miss Serena, thank you for your hard work."

"Young Miss," Alfred began hesitantly, "Mrs. Wynn just called me. After she heard what happened at the hospital, she figured you must be tired and hungry after being in surgery for nearly two hours. She's been in the kitchen making some of your favorite dishes and was planning to have them sent over..."

Serena picked up her canvas bag and slung it over her shoulder with a cool, effortless motion. "No need to send it. I'm going home to eat."

Alfred’s face lit up. "Excellent! I'll let her know right now!"

With an apologetic smile at Dr. Dawson, he stepped into a corner to call his employer.

"Then I won't keep you from your family reunion, Miss Serena," Dr. Dawson said, taking the hint.

Just then, a nurse hurried over. "Director, the Blackwoods... someone from the Blackwood family is here!"

Dr. Dawson's expression tensed, and he nodded.

He then looked at Serena. "The person you just saved is the Blackwood heiress. Would you like to meet them? I'm sure the family would like to thank you personally for saving her."

"There's no need." Serena’s eyelids drooped lazily. "I was just cleaning up a mess for one of my people. I don't need their thanks."
