As everyone stood there confused, Logan continued calmly, "I spent the whole night looking for you. Why are you so angry with me?"
W-What? What was Mr. Reid talking about? No one understood a word.
The imposter’s expression froze. Surrounded by the puzzled looks of the other ladies, she forced a smile.
"Logan, what are you saying? We clearly argued yesterday. You... you kicked me out..."
"Argued?" Logan frowned slightly. "When did we argue?"
The ladies were baffled. Why were Mr. and Mrs. Reid telling completely different stories?
But judging by Logan’s demeanor, he didn’t seem to be lying.
Logan met the imposter’s panicked eyes and slowly curled his lips into a smile.
He’d figured out what she and Jacob were trying to do—so he decided to play along.
But unfortunately for them, Logan was never the kind of actor who stuck to the script.
Logan smiled leisurely.
"Selina, you never sleep in separate rooms from me. Why did you suddenly insist on it yesterday? If you think we were arguing simply because we had different opinions, then I apologize."
The ladies: "...?"
Logan nodded, then continued, "But honesty is the foundation of marriage. Lately, you’ve been acting really strange. I can’t tell what’s going through your mind, and now you want to sleep apart every night."
His eyes filled with concern, confusion, and hurt.
"Is there something you’re hiding from me?"
It was finally starting to make sense to the ladies.
So that’s what happened!
There was no argument.
Mrs. Reid had been keeping something from Mr. Reid and insisted on separate rooms, and Mr. Reid—hurt and confused—must’ve said something too harsh.
Trying to ease the tension, the ladies quickly jumped in to help:
"Mrs. Reid, it’s just a misunderstanding. Mr. Reid clearly still cares about you."
"Mr. Reid, you wouldn’t believe it—Mrs. Reid was crying just now."
"Oh?" Logan raised a brow.
"I remember you rarely cry in front of others, Selina. You must’ve been really upset. If you truly don’t want to share a room with me, that’s fine. I won’t force you."
The imposter trembled with rage.
What nonsense! She never wanted to sleep separately—Logan was acting!
He’d spent the entire night tangled up with that bitch Selina.
She, the real Mrs. Reid, had been kicked out—he even knocked her out with a hit to the neck!
She had come to catch them in the act, and now Logan was putting on this whole "caring husband" routine?
Who would believe her now?
And where was Selina? She wasn’t even in the room—how?
Logan had clearly been drugged last night.
How could he have resisted the effects?!
What the hell was going on?!
Logan furrowed his brows.
"Selina, you’ve been so off lately. If not for your face, I’d almost think you were someone else."
The imposter jolted and quickly responded, "Logan, what are you saying? I’m me—I’m Selina."
"Just kidding," Logan said lazily.
"It’s just that your personality has changed so much in the past few days. Of course I’d be worried. Well, aren’t you coming in?"
The imposter gritted her teeth.
She had finally found the perfect opportunity—one that could strip Selina of even the identity of "Sophia."
But Logan’s little act just blocked off every path she had.
What if she never got another chance like this?
She couldn’t let that happen.
No matter what, she had to...
The ladies were just about to take their leave when suddenly, the expression on Mrs. Reid’s face shifted.
Her hand trembled as she pointed to a single earring lying on the sofa behind Logan.
Her voice cracked, as if her world had collapsed.
"Logan... whose earring is that? Who were you with last night?"
