Elio stood there, momentarily speechless.
"Alright, you win," he conceded with a chuckle. "Let's head back for dinner. I cooked it myself, and it should still be warm."
As he spoke, Elio reached out to ruffle Astrid's hair, only to find his hand covered in dirt.
Astrid couldn't help but laugh at the sight of his frozen hand hovering in mid-air. "Serves you right for touching without asking," she teased.
She was a mess from filming all day, with dirt clinging to her clothes. She had only washed her face and hands; a proper shower would have to wait until they got back.
"How about I help you with that shower?" Elio suggested in a whisper.
Astrid rolled her eyes dramatically. "Keep dreaming, Elio."
To Astrid, poking fun at Elio was as natural as breathing. But for the rest of the film crew, this was a revelation. They had expected the stern and intimidating figure known as "Elio the Unyielding," only to discover he was anything but—more like a man happily under his wife's thumb.
Yet many agreed that someone as remarkable as Astrid could only be matched by someone like Elio. Some fans, though, believed that even Elio wasn't quite worthy of their beloved Astrid.
Elio’s schedule was packed, and his visit to the set seemed more like a gesture of support. After sharing dinner with Astrid, he had to leave.
Later that evening, Astrid was lounging on the sofa, watching TV. Selena, having gone out for a stroll, returned with a cup of bubble tea and whispered, "Astrid, Elio’s visit really worked wonders. Everyone's been so different since he was here."
Astrid chuckled, amused by Selena’s confusion. "Don’t worry about the details. We'll just go and do our part."
"A few tasks might be a bit unfamiliar for you. I’ll talk to the director about scheduling my scenes together tomorrow," Astrid said, standing up. She knew Selena was more reserved and, as a makeup artist, hadn't handled this kind of work before. She didn’t want her assistant to feel overwhelmed.
Selena scratched her head, feeling a bit awkward. "Astrid, maybe I should go. We don’t know when Gracie will be back, and I’m getting paid as both your assistant and makeup artist."
"No, no, I'll handle it," Astrid insisted, gently patting Selena on the head. "You deserve a rest."
"Alright then," Selena agreed, feeling her fatigue catching up with her and headed off to rest.
