The Lippert family was making a comeback. With the Lippert Group’s massive operations, Ludwik really needed to focus on his own business and just be the heir he was meant to be.
He was Jason’s only son, and Jason had already sacrificed so much for Whitney.
But, obviously, these were just Jason’s own thoughts.
Ludwik didn’t answer, his lips pressed into a calm, thin line. “Dad, this isn’t over yet.”
Jason’s expression darkened. “Don’t tell me you’re planning to go back to Eurovoria. You almost lost your life last time!”
“All I know is, as long as Bryce is alive, Whitney won’t have peace.
Besides, I made a promise to Whitney’s mother—to help her return safely to Germinia.
Parisa, she’s the CEO of Inko Group. I’m sure you’ve heard of her?”
He’d heard more than just rumors—Parisa’s name had even reached the White House, and she’d been all over the news.
Jason, with his background in politics and the military, knew full well who she was.
Her status was extraordinary.
And yet, she was Whitney’s biological mother.
Jason never expected Whitney to have such a powerful background—one that could easily overshadow the Lipperts.
If they ever got on Parisa’s bad side, it could really spell trouble for the family...
He was always thinking about what was best for the Lipperts.
Ludwik could see right through his father’s thoughts, knowing they weren’t on the same page.
But Jason’s hesitation worked in Ludwik’s favor.
All Ludwik cared about was being with Whitney.
“Dad, Grandma and the others are coming this way,” Ludwik said, glancing at the main hall and cutting off the conversation in his low voice.
“That’s enough for now. I know what I’m doing.”
Jason wasn’t happy about it, but faced with a son even more stubborn than himself, there wasn’t much he could do.
Are you really heading back to Eurovoria? Parker mentioned before he left that there was some trouble in Banyan City—something to do with Whitney’s best friend, right? Won’t Whitney have to go?
You two barely see each other as it is.
And those poor kids of yours—back to being latchkey kids.
Not to mention, your folks aren’t getting back together any time soon.
If only I could finally win Sandy over, our families could help you with the kids!
So really, helping me is helping yourself, you know?”
He gave Ludwik a meaningful look.
“Who says we’re not getting back together—get lost,” Ludwik shot back, giving him a cold glare.
He stood up from his wheelchair, tall and steady, and started for the elevator. Whitney and Sandy were upstairs on the second floor. With a scoff, he said, “Nice try. Get moving.”
Shane just grinned and followed him into the elevator.
