“You need to grab a bite, and then we’ll get to bed,” I say, and then I saw Mariano walking toward us, he was a friend of her, and he’s a friend of mine as well, he was in the funeral as well, so I didn’t mind his presence.

We got the food according to Mariano’s recommendation, and then we took a seat, all three of us, but others did join us as well, they sat down and looked at her with worry and fear, they wanted to show their respect for her.

“This food is terrible,” she says taking another bite of her food.

“Why do you think I’m always at Meggy’s place,” Mariano says.

“Even my burned food tastes better than this,” I say making her smile

“That’s a valid theory, I heard the same thing growing up, you should see what we eat, the ones who aren’t trainee, we have much better food,” I say teasing them all, one of them even pretended to be hit in the heart.

“Then why did you bring me here?” Lotus asks me with a raised brow, I wanted to say because you need the company, because your house is going to be a trigger for you.

“They don’t offer us food all day like they do here, so I thought it’s better if we came here,” I answer her with a tight smile.

“Oh how evil of them,” a student says.

“You know, I own two cats back at home, I too keep food on the clock for them, but I bet their cat food tastes a million time better,” she says still eating her food.

“You’d sell me? At least say it’s for Sunday roast and not just some craft mac and cheese,” he says, begging his mate, making mine smile again, I knew the company would do her well.
