Chapter 206 Catching up.

“So what am I now? Running away from the law? What if they tell you to send me back there?” I ask worried, the fear controlling my body, my heart beating like crazy, my breathing becoming fast, shallow and hurtful.

“What? We’ll never give you back, tell her Captain,” Mateo objects.

“He’s right, I’m never giving you back, if they want you, they’ll have to drag all of us,” she says with a smile.

“How did you came up with this plan,” I ask them, why didn’t they do it before.

“It was my daughter suggestion, she said to my face, I broke your favourite mug and owned up to it,” Brooklyn says, and I was quiet for a second, she means her mug breaking and her child, that’s how I was saved.

It took my brain a minute and then it reacted to what she just said, I started to laugh out loud, it was the first time I have laughed in a very long time, I looked at Brooklyn and she was just looking at me with worry in her eyes.

“Do we?” Ezra asks and she shakes her head no, and keep on driving, we didn’t go back to the station where I expected to go, instead she kept on driving and I wasn’t about to ask her where to.

“Just let her let them all out,” Matco says, I kept on laughing for a bit. before going back quiet, my eyes were locked at the window, looking outside, to what I’m missing, what I have been missing for months.

“How long has it been?” I ask them, I knew it’s been a couple months, but how long.

“Honey, don’t you remember?” Ezra asks in a nice voice, not a thing I expected from him, he’s a jockster, and he’s usually serious, never this nice or sweet.

“Remember what?” I ask him.

“How long it’s been,” he says in the same nice calm voice.

“How long has it been?” I ask them.

“When we get where we’re going, you’ll get a nice hot shower, change into something else, have a meal and then we’ll talk,” Brooklyn say in a firm voice, making everyone shut up but them not telling me, only made me feel like it’s been more than just a month or two that have passed already.

We got the place that we were going to, which happened to be a house, the guys called it a safe house, it’s just the four of us, the rest have taken another car and didn’t join us.

“Are you hiding me here?” I ask them.

“No, but in case we need to argue your case, it’s better to hidden, let me show you your room,” brooklyn says guiding me toward a room it was big, it had it’s own bathroom and new clothes, ones that I haven’t been wearing on repeat.

“Shower or bath, take your time, wear whatever you feel like and meet us downstairs,” she says leaving me alone in the room, and I did just that, took the longest shower ever, having the hot boiling water clean my skinny body and prominent bones, it felt like I haven’t been clean for a while until now.

Next I brushed my hair with the new hairbrush, I put on the new clothes, they were all too big on me, but they had different color and pattern, they felt soft and warm against my body, I didn’t know a wolf could be this cold all the damn time.

I joined them downstairs and saw food, it was a big feast, different dishes and flavours, I started to eat right away and they joined me, it’s much better than the food at the facility!

“So how long has it been?” I ask them casually.

“It’s been a while,” Brooklyn say.

“I’m sure you got a number,” I say, asking her for how long it’s been.

“Remember that we live for almost forever,” Ezra says.

“Time is just a thing that happens, but we’re here now, look at the bright side,” Mateo says.

“How long has it been?” I ask them again, I don’t care about the introductions, or trying to get me not to be worried or afraid but I need to know.

“It’s been…” Ezra starts and then look at Brooklyn hoping
