The cheque drifted around in torn pieces, whirling gracefully in the air and falling to the ground.

James Lu looked at the woman's stubborn face and suppressed his displeasure. "I only meant well."-

Elizabeth Liang sneered and said, "I know you meant well, but it means differently to me. It was my mistake to enter your room and be dragged onto the bed by you. It's all my fault. So, keep your money, I don't want it."

She turned around to leave. She really didn't want to stay here anymore. Everything here was telling her about the absurd mistake she had made last night.

"Wait!" Seeing her turn around, James said lightly, "I said I meant well." He didn't even know why he was still explaining, "If you won't accept my money, please let me send you home."

Elizabeth raised the corner of her lips. "No, thank you." She wishes she would never see him again!

He looked all over her and sneered. "Are you sure you want to go out like this?"

Hearing this, she finally stopped.

Right, it's May. Although she had put on her clothes, what about the hickeys on her neck? Did she really want to become a public spectacle?

Sitting in James Lu's car, Elizabeth Liang kept looking out of the window. The silence continued.

When the car passed by a corner, she said, "Can you stop here?"

James nodded and parked the car by the side of the road.

"Can you buy it for me?" She pointed to the pharmacy at the intersection. Then she opened her bag, took out some money, and handed it to him. Seeing that he was looking at her with questioning eyes, she suddenly blushed. "The... plan B...the pills..."

James looked at the blushing little woman and then looked at the money in her hand. Thinking of her stubborn look when she tore the check, he did not take the money handed over by her. He directly opened the door and got out of the car.

James paused in his steps, he frowned and closed his thin lips into a line.

Walking out of the pharmacy, he looked at the pill case in his hand, turned to walk into the supermarket next door, and bought a bottle of water.

"Thank you."

Elizabeth took the case and water, opened them, took out the small pill, put it into her mouth, and swallowed it with water.

The pill was a little bitter, but it felt like nothing compared to the bitterness in her heart.

"Mr. Lu, are you happy now that you were able to witness me taking the medicine?"

James looked at her and felt inexplicably annoyed. His lips moved, but he didn't say anything in the end. He started the car silently and drove to the address she had mentioned before.
