I Only Want You novel Chapter 31

After the drip was finished, Elizabeth Liang came out and saw James Lu waiting at the other end of the corridor just as she had expected.

His tall figure leaned against the wall, his arms were crossed and his face was pretty crabby. However, he still looked extremely attractive.

"Your future husband gets hotter every time I look at him!" Evelyn Wu, who has been informed of Elizabeth's situation, blinked with heart eyes. "If I were you, I wouldn't give a damn about the Liang company or house or whatever!"

"Well, hurry over, your husband's waiting! I'm off!" Evelyn winked at her then ran away through the back door.

Elizabeth shook her head and let out a chuckle. Still feeling weak, she walked towards James one step at a time while leaning against the wall.

"I'm done. Let's go."

James glanced at Elizabeth standing next to him and couldn't help but frown. "Can you walk?"

"Yes." She just had to walk slower.

He nodded and headed out first.

Elizabeth sluggishly followed after him. The distance between them quickly drew out.

As soon as she got out of the clinic, with no more walls to lean on, she stumbled and almost fell to the ground.

"Ah..."

Hearing Elizabeth, James turned around and sighed. He walked back to her. "Didn't you say you can walk?"

"Yeah," she smiled, "I'm just a bit slow."

"You know what, don't even bother."

As soon as he finished speaking, he bent down slightly and picked her up with his arms.

"Wha-"

It was so sudden that Elizabeth gasped in surprise.

"What?" James chided her while walking, "It would've been sunrise by the time you reached the car yourself!"

James had well-built and powerful arms, and it felt comforting to lean against his broad shoulders. Elizabeth's heart quickened as he carried her. Of course he had to be weird about caring for her, but she actually didn't dislike it. At least he did care about her, and knowing that made her feel warm inside.

As she thought about this, a small smile appeared on her face.

Seeing her smile, he said icily, "Glad you're enjoying yourself. Are you happy that you're getting a ride for free so you don't have to walk?"

Did she look that happy? "You just said in the radio... that daddy's here to take me home?" Elizabeth didn't catch everything, but that line was clear as day.

"Ahem..."

"It's been years... since my daddy took me home..."

James knew about the general circumstance of her family. Looking at her lonely expression, he said cockily, "Don't worry, I'm your daddy from now on!"

For a moment, both of them were silent.

James glanced at the helpless woman in his arms, raised his eyebrows and said, "Elizabeth."

"Hmm?"

"What's that smell on you?"

"Smell? Are you sure? I don't smell anything." Not only did she suffer from diarrhea but she also threw up a ton. Maybe she accidentally vomited on herself? But she really couldn't smell it.

"Did you get some of that diarrhea on your pants?"

"..." Elizabeth was extremely embarrassed. But when she saw James's smirk, she immediately knew that he was messing with her. "Is it fun to mess with me, James Lu?"

"Yeah, totally!"

Elizabeth was so annoyed that she wanted to curse at him, but then she saw his childishly smug expression, grinning like a mischievous kid.

Her anger dissipated when she saw his face, and she grinned lightly in response.

Placed on the dinner table was a bowl of soft white porridge, a bowl of rice, and several delicious and colorful dishes.

Elizabeth walked over and asked incredulously, "Did... you make all these?"

James gave her a stink-eye. "Do I look like a cook to you? It's from Imperial Gourmet." Then he added emphatically, "Don't worry, it just arrived, so it's diarrhea-safe."

As expected, Elizabeth saw delivery boxes in the trash can printed with the words "Imperial Gourmet".

"I think this is too greasy for me right now." She looked at the dishes on the table.

"Who said these are for you? These are mine!" With this, James pushed the bowl of white porridge in front of her. "This, is yours!"

There was so much food...

"You didn't eat anything when we came home?"

James paused as he was eating and coughed. "I got hungry again, okay?"

His expression immediately confirmed Elizabeth's suspicion. Although she still couldn't quite believe it, she did feel a little touched.

James could have made her cook just now, but he didn't.

Elizabeth was truly touched, but still. "But, I really don't have the appetite..." Who has ever wanted to eat with diarrhea?

James raised his head and asked, "Do you want to faint from starvation on top of diarrhea?"

"How about... I leave this for tomorrow?" She tried bargaining with him.

"You didn't sh*t enough today?"

"No..."

"Then finish this entire bowl!" He ignored her and tapped on the bowl. "Do not leave a single drop behind, understood?"
